How does this rum taste?
World‑class Rockley still classic
If you already enjoy Rockley 1986 releases from Rum Artesanal or Silver Seal, this Duncan Taylor gives you the same DNA in a slightly softer, ultra-balanced style that rewards slow sipping.
Beginners, those preferring sweet/fruity Barbados styles, or anyone expecting big estery funk or cask-strength intensity.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

I found it a little fresher than the Artesanal rum, but this was a little more complex and mature. With both bottlings, it is amazing how ingeniously alcohol can be integrated into a rum.
Last rum tasting for this year and then it's also my 500th rum! I rock that neat with something rare and good ... an 86 Rockley 🤩Nose: fantastic mix of spicy-sweet honey, delicate honeycomb, wax and medicinal notes with some iodine and brine. Behind that some orange zest and then slightly woody and smoky. All well balanced and round. 94Palate: very round, salty and spicy. Again this slightly medicinal with some iodine. Slightly woody-smoky with vanilla and fine honey in honeycomb. 92It's all the subtle nuances that make a Rockley and the unique profile that won't be seen again. Must definitely try again. With a little more rest!
Needs a lot of time in the glass, but comes close to the RA and Silver Seal in the end.
