How does this rum taste?
Most enjoy its classic 1991 KFM profile: dry wood, leather, dark chocolate and cocoa. Critics find it too bitter, sharp and one‑dimensional for the price. Consensus: characterful, but niche.
If you like other 1991 KFM Demeraras with their dry, woody bite, this will feel familiar—just know it leans hard into bitterness and oak over fruit and sweetness.
Those seeking sweet, easy sippers, anyone sensitive to bitterness or sharp alcohol, and value hunters expecting high complexity for a premium price.

Borderline bitterness as usual with the commercial profile. Despite the dilution, the rum doesn't seem thin at all!
Very spicy and woody with lots of bitters. Chocolate dark fruits lots of wood influence, leather pencil. Pleasant sweetness on first contact in the mouth. On the whole, too much bitterness for me.
