How does this rum taste?
The "Jamaica" Rum, crafted at Worthy Park Distillery and bottled by The Duchess, is an exquisite limited release with only 268 bottles available. Distilled in 2006, it was aged for 12 years from molasses using a pot still, resulting in a robust 57.9% ABV. Tasting notes reveal a complex bouquet, including rich banana, honey, and pineapple aromas. It delivers a layered palate with banana and woody undertones complemented by hints of funk and honey, leading to a long, sweet, fruity finish. Known for its smoothness and distinctive Jamaican character, it intrigues through each sip, offering a warming and mature tasting experience, though some find it less typical.

Im Geruch hätte ich noch auf das WPL-Mark getippt, durch den lange anhaltenden Nachgeschmack mit seiner leichten Adstringenz bin ich dann doch eher beim WPM-Mark. Aber letztlich ist dies auch egal, denn es kommt auf das Gesamtpaket an und das ist in diesem Fall wirklich gelungen. Die typischen Aromen der Brennerei sind vorhanden und erfahren durch die nicht dominante, aber durchaus respektable Holzigkeit eine passende Ergänzung. Feine Sache!
Po delší době opět moje oblíbená Jamajka ze sympatické destilerie WP. Typická vůně, hezky uhlazená, vyzrálá. Chuťově stejně tak. Tropické ovoce, estery, technické tóny.Vyklidněný medově banánový závěr. Pro mě je to balzám pro duši:-)
10.08.2019 Nice get together with friends at my place. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint smoke, banana, overripe, light mint, faint olive. Palate Oily, light roasted wood, light caramel, pineapple, banana, light anise, earthy. Finish Long, naturally sweet, fruity, faint chocolate, light tea.
Obvykle mluvím o typických chutích a vůních jamaicy. V tomto případě mě uplně typické nepřijde ani jedno, ale není to na škodu. Po napití rozvibruje jazyk, objeví se ovoce ale postrádám estery. Ve vůni i chyti se projeví dřevo a celé to má příjemný hřejivý závěr.
