How does this rum taste?
- intensiver und dadurch erscheint er auch komplexer
- creamy toffee nose
- geiler Scheiß, sehr ähnlich dem RA
A New Yarmouth 1994 pick that divides opinion, this high-ABV Jamaican rum stands out for its powerful mix of dark chocolate, tropical and dried fruits, coconut, and pronounced wood. Multiple RumX tasters call out its "creamy toffee nose" (Stijn Zino), intense funk and esters, and the interplay of roasted coconut, ripe banana, and papaya. The alcohol is "nicely integrated" for some, demanding for others, while notes of spice, nuts and a very long finish consistently appear. According to Frank, it's “wunderschön komplex, intensiv, mit einem dichten Aromenspektrum.” Still, a few hope for softer alcohol or more fruit to reach true greatness.

To New Yarmouth
"This New Yarmouth from PL is significantly more present and stronger than the Lime House. The aromas are more intense and therefore it also appears more complex. In order to reach the top, it still lacks some fruit. Otherwise, another very good representative of the 94 NY"
"Deutlich besser in full proof wie verdünnt! Dunkel geröstete Kokoschips, treffen auf Überreife Bananen und andere vergorene Tropenfrüchte wie Papaya und Ananas, dazu dunkle Schokolade, getrocknete medjoul Datteln und säuerliche Ester dazu ein schier endloser Abgang. Außerdem ungewöhnlich funky für einen 94er, diese Ester Power bringt nicht jeder mit... Krasser Stoff!"
"Round and very tasty rum. Excellent combination of accessibility and complexity. Present fruits, also esters tasty and dark chocolate. Alcohol very well integrated. A top representative of the vintage."
"After two very weak rums, I need something sensible again today. But then also the right one. NY, 26 yo, 68%. A sample from the 13th GRF: Nose: wonderfully complex, intense, with a dense aroma spectrum. Toasty-woody-spicy and tropical-fruity. Slightly smoky with leather, tobacco and a pleasant honey-caramel sweetness. Gooseberry, papaya, dried apricot and pineapple with a hint of coconut. The pleasant, present but restrained esters with glue and light marzipan go well with this. Fantastic nose. 9.0 Palate: powerful, full-bodied and intensely delicious. It is spicy-woody-roasty and at the same time nutty-chocolaty paired with tropical fruits. Initially astringent, salty and slightly bitter, but then immediately sweet and sour with pineapple and passion fruit, followed by fatty pecan and tonka bean. Behind that, leather and plenty of bourbon. If I had more than 2cl, the list would certainly be even longer. Great rum, but the %% is a great fit for me. 9,0"
