How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise this New Yarmouth 1994 for a coconut‑forward profile layered with roasted oak, caramel and dark chocolate. Tropical fruit and a touch of glue on the nose, finishing long, dry and woody. Despite 59.1% ABV, many find it accessible, though some note tannins or modest complexity. A popular, limited Thompson Bros. release with strong buyer confidence.

Today we have a 4 flight New Yarmouth 1994, one of my favorite profiles, Appleton 21yr goes SVW.
In the blind tasting, I would have guessed Foursquare. However, somewhat darker and toastier with little fruitiness. On the palate creamy, spicy and relatively dry. Beautiful bottling for a top rating but complexity on the palate is missing.
04.09.2022 Meeting up for a nice after event party at my hotel. Good rum and food spread over a full day. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruits, light caramel, glue, faint marzipan, light ginger. Palate Medium dry, oily, wood, light roasted, fruits, glue, light caramel, light ginger, faint chocolate, medium dry. Finish Long, wood, roasted, medium dry, coconut, tannins, light ginger.
