By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Thick and oily, with an almost Jamaica style funk added to the anise. Alcohol is well integrated. Finish ends on a sweet note. Very reasonably priced. Could use a bit more ooompf to the buttom.
A beautiful continental aged Guyana nose more sweet than salty: anise or rather fennel tea, very ripe mirabelle, oak (more like a dusty closet than a toasted barrel), esters bring some sweet yeast pastry. In the mouth the rum becomes saltier and the wood becomes more present without being overbearing: Anise, olives, iodine. To the ripe yellow fruit comes something unripe, tart with a hint of chlorophyll. The finish is wonderfully long and creamy: salty syrup and again overripe slightly vanilla mirabelle.A wonderful rum. Unfortunately, I did not buy a bottle on Black Friday 😢Hab him together with the rum Mercenary 2005 tasted. The RDL is for me the clear winner.Irre is the difference to the 2008 PM of Kill Devil which pulls the here soft, volatile deep into the dirt!
25.09.2021 A friendly tasting with friends and colleagues. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, light herbs, faint licorice, faint medicinal, light vegetal. Palate Oily, light wood, faint roasted, light medicinal, dried fruits, faint leather, light herbs, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, oily, light wood, light mint, dried fruit, light licorice.
the PM comes across quite funky, but markers of olive, mirabelle, grape, anise and oak barrel are also present. The palate pleases with peppery spice (nutmeg), wood and rock candy. A round, if not too long finish follows.
