Corman Collins Diamond 1996
Highly praised Demerara: rich dried fruits, chocolate, coffee and polished wood, long dark finish and superb balance. Many find it extremely drinkable, with dilution the only recurring reservation.
Fans of classic Demerara who want a complex but relaxed sipper with dark dried fruits, caramel, chocolate and coffee rather than high-ester funk or punishing cask strength.

Incredible Diamond profile. Its only weakness is dilution which is not perfectly executed (alcohol pic). Besides this, clearly my favourite kind of rum 💘
The nose is complex and greedy. Sweet, dried, ripe fruits are at the head of the pack. We find oranges, prunes, raisins, dates ... But other fresher fruits are also part: cherry-raspberry. All completed by a nice dose of solvent varnish that make this olfactory bouquet more than interesting. In the mouth, there is some pep but the alcohol is perfectly integrated. It's less fruity than the nose, but it's quite greedy thanks to the caramel and coconut notes. Some oak pushes from the shoulders into the pack and the tobacco gets a little acceleration. The finish is nice, long and dry on chocolate/coffee. My goodness, it is really concentrated this Dark Demerara, and it does not leave indifferent at all (in a good way!).
