The Collectors Series No. 2 MDS is a limited edition rum from the Diamond distillery in Guyana, selected by Romdeluxe. Distilled in 1996 and matured for 25 years, this rum features a 50.8% ABV. Just the color of it tells you you're in another world. The nose is greedy, with chocolate, vanilla, orange and plums, spiced up by the old barrel and hints of shoe polish. On the palate, the structure remains the same: vanilla, chocolate cream, coffee, orange, plum... and the cask and polish are more present than on the nose, without diminishing the extreme delicacy of this juice. The finish is long on vanilla, barrel and shoe polish. Long after finishing this tasting, I had an impression of menthol too. One of the best rums I've ever tasted.
Shame it really lacks in body. Would be much better with a bit more of strength. The fruits with chcolate are amazing
This one is really fun! Typical molasses Diamond from the 1996 vintage. Fortunately, compared to other bottlings, the alcohol content is not chosen too low!
Franconian Tasting Gang am 23.11.24 bei Jarek. Sehr leckeres Teil, was ich aber anprangern muss, dass es zwei verschiedene Abfüllungen gibt, die genau das selbe Etikett haben und auch noch gleich heißen. Sehr schwierig erstmal diesen Rum zu zuordnen. Das sollte besser werden Romdeluxe 😅 Ansonsten echt geiles Teil.
