Foursquare Doorly’s XO Fine Old Barbados Rum

Barbados for falling in love with. Tempting smell with well balanced spices and dried and tropical fruits. The taste is very parallel, round and easy to love. The finish is the weakest point, the aftertaste doesn’t last too long, it’s a bit watery. Anyway, this rum is a safe choice for almost anybody.

Very good value for money!

A rum tasted at the Lucerne Gin and Rum Festival 2024. A nose of dried fruit, yellow fruit, coconut, cookies and marzipan. The palate is smooth, a little diluted, but the peppery spices take over with a nutty edge. Wood and bitterness. The finish is short, with wood, spice and bitterness. A well-made, gourmet entry-level rum.

Great value for money!Nice fruity with the Foursquare typical bite, although a bit lighter and less peppery. Pleasant sweetness, but the sherry cask breaks with it a certain mustiness that becomes a bit too much for me after a certain amount.

Delicious rum at a very good price! Typical Foursquare professionals with caramel, roasted aromas, spices and fruit, but also with an alcoholic note. The 43% makes it rather mild and easy to drink in the mouth. At the same time, the aromas are not particularly intense, so a few % more would be good. Anyway, great for beginners.

05.08.2022 A nice afternoon with other rum geeks and an evening visiting a few bars. Notes Medium dark to dark in colour. Nose Round, lightly sweet, light wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, cherry, light earthy. Palate Round, oily, sweet, light wood, light cherry, spice, light grapes, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, light wood, sweet, cherry, light roasted, faint coffee, faint smoke, dried fruit.

A very good, entry-level Foursquare with a top price-per-value ratio. From start to finish you will find the classic Foursquare Aromas, a some esters and an acceptable alcohol content. This rum is fun!

Very thin, young, lots of neutral alcohol, little flavor, some vanillin, little wood.

A very solid Doorlys with a good price-performance ratio. Toffee and barrel notes are recognizable. There is also a hint of vanilla in the taste and the typical Foursquare taste comes into its own

Rather pleasant nose, sweet, vanilla, easy but engaging. On the palate, the impression is confirmed. Easy to drink and not monolithic. Simple and easy. But not without interest. Very pleasant toasted coconut. Woody vanilla finish. Nice for a first approach to Barbados.

Ein ganz guter Rum. In der Nase kommen Vanille, Alkohol und Fass zum Vorschein. Im Gaumen hat man dann Vanille, Karamell, Gewürze und Fass. Schmeckt sehr mild, im Gaumen kommt der Alkohol kaum zur Entfaltung.

A typical rum from Barbados. Notes of dried fruits, chocolate and spices in the nose and in the mouth. A rather one-dimensional rum, which continues on the same note of roundness with a rather short finish.

Very good price for the money. A tasty and very pleasant Foursquare, my first Doorly. I opened this one when sailing in the vicinity of the Egina island in Saronic gulf in Greece trying to find out it’s iconic Aphaia temple.

A nice rum to sip neat. There isn't much of a Sherry influence but there is a hint on the palate. It's easy going with not much to offend. The finish is a tad peppery for my taste.
