Swell de Spirits Clarendon V&B Exclusive Series 04 EMB 1995

Small 95 EMB X tasting: as expected, a dream in the glass. For me, a perfect harmony of wood, menthol and tropical fruit which can be perceived in varying strengths from nose to finish. Compared to the RA, the finish is super harmonious and not so dry.

Lack, Lösungsmittel und sehr frisch, reichlich Kampfer. Tropische Früchte, so riecht ein Obststand in Rio. 🇧🇷 Bananenbrot und Kräuter. Wenig Holz und Gewürze. Kräftig, komplex. Geil!! 💦💦nun Karamell und Toffee. Im Mund wird zuerst mal die Zunge weggebrannt. Ohne Wasser nur Alkohol und holzige Würze. Ölig. 💦💦Vollmundig, sehr angenehm. Langer, wärmender Abgang. Toller EMB 95. 🇯🇲

👃 Boisé vernissé et laqué, tannins, tabac blond, chocolat noir, produit tanné d'une boutique de vacances en Ardèche. Avec l'aération, le bois laisse place à une note caractéristique de pêche glacée à la menthe, plus la menthe fraîche et poivrée que la pêche. Cette menthe évolue en weed. Un peu de sève, de cire et de pignons de pin. Les fruits arrivent et s'expriment sous forme diverses et variées ; fruits tropicaux (mangue, papaye, ananas grillé), fruits secs, compotés et caramélisés, orange sanguine, pêche juteuse. 😋 Vivacité de l'alcool, boisé très (trop) présent, certains diront. Chêne brûlé, tanins rêche du fût, thé noir, menthe amère et poivrée, cacao pimenté, tabac vert, cuir, cire, fraîcheur mentholée. Les fruits viennent ensuite mais comme le nez, ils sont en retrait ; fruits tropicaux, pêche, compote caramélisée. ⛳ Longue, chaude, intense, amère, boisé rêche. La menthe poivrée est collée au palais, suivi de bonbon piment de la Réunion, de graines de sésame, de légers fruits tropicaux compotés, amertume du maracuja vert. 🫗 Verre vide très herbacé, tabac, thé vert, menthe séchée, foin humide. 🏅 Très bon Clarendon 95 avec beaucoup de bois. Un très beau boisé au détriment des fruits un peu plus en retrait. Pour moi, il n'est pas au niveau du trio Warren Kong / Rum Artesanal / Fine Drams, mais pas loin derrière. 89+.

Wow! Was für ein Rum! Ich bin total begeistert. Super schöne Menthol Noten, vereint mit Pfirsich und tropische Reifung. Alkohol super eingebunden. Richtig guter Stoff!

Very dark profile. Perfect balance between wood and fruit, far less bitter than I had feared. The 24 years of tropical maturation make this bottling very complex. There's a hint of chocolate mint in the background on the nose that I've never had before. If you give it the necessary time, it doesn't need to hide behind the other top 95 EMBs. Nice barrel that Mika has dug up.

With its 30 years on the hump, the oldest EMB 95 tasted so far. Super dark color. On the nose butterscotch, toffee, dried fruit, old cask, a light mentholated freshness. Mocha on the palate, lots of old cask and tannins, rather dry on the finish. Overall, I miss the balance that was still quite good in the 'younger' EMBs (more mango, papaya on the nose). Also very barrel-heavy on the palate...but of course still a very good EMB 95 (are there any bad ones?)

Nez complexe, riche. Épices, fruits (mirabelle un peu juteuse), un peu d'alcool. Un peu toasté. Du bois sans trop de funk. Un peu réconfortant : ça donne très très envie. Belle attaque, puissant. Du fût, toasté. Du poivre. Pas de fruit au début. Fruit rouge, framboise sur la longueur. Très très long.

Starker Clarendon. Traumhaft Tropische Nase viel reife Frucht , Menthol leichte Butteigkeit . Ölig dicke Konsistenz im Mund auch hier volle Power Tropical Aging sehr lecker . Auch toll ist der schöne Menthol Einschlag der macht den Rum zusätzlich Interessant und Komplex.
