Hampden Whisky Live Paris 2025 C<>H 2021

Young Hampden that feels significantly more mature thanks to tropical aging than many continental-aged bottlings of this age. On the nose, intense fermented fruit, pineapple, banana, and typical Hampden esters, accompanied by citrus and wood, but already well integrated. On the palate, powerful and dry with fruit, spice, and a clear structure, less raw than expected. There is an alcoholic presence, but much better embedded than the age would suggest. Overall, a very expressive, serious young Hampden that clearly benefits from tropical aging.

#5744 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This was one of my high lights of the WL 2025. A powerful rum with lots of esters and overripe/rotten fruit. Nice balance in the ABV with a natural sweetness on top.

Definitely a really strong Hampden. Another full load of tropical fruit, especially pineapple and banana. Some ester is of course also recognizable. Very intense rum, full of overripe fruit, really great.

Ein sehr leckerer Rum! Harmonisch, vielschichtig, ölig, funky, fruchtig, viele Ester. Insgesamt auch eher süßlich, was aus ihm einen wundervollen Gaumenschmeichler macht. Tolle Abfüllung, die sich preislich allerdings auch eher oben ansiedelt.

Ein kraftvoller und geschmacksintensiver Hampden. Tropische Früchte - vor allem Ananas und Banane - und Ester im Vordergrund. Daneben junges Holz, ganz leichte Gewürze und ein Hauch Karamell. Alkohol erstklassig eingebunden!

8,7:On the nose, esters, nail polish, varnish, fermented overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red fruits, flowery molasses, sweet with honey, briny olive, roasted wood notes, spicy vanilla, marzipan, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, gingerbread, pastry, cookie dough and cream toffee arise, creamy dairy tones, yellow fruits and the molasses is herbaceous. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is intense, funky, oily, slightly sweet and metallic, with esters, overripe tropical, citrus and red fruits, roasted wood notes like sour dough bread, cookie dough and yeast, smoky, meaty, spicy with ginger, as the molasses is flowery, vegetal with briny olive.When the rum is well rested, vinegar hints join. 8,6:The finish is rather long, dry&tannic, with citrus, tropical fruits, medicinal tones pairing roasted wood notes, spicy, smoky, nutty and grassy, minty molasses..

This is a really good grenade. Chapeau is all I can say. You can argue about the price, but in this day and age it's worth the money. It tastes very good to me, young and wild, certainly also a blast as a mixer

A wonderful young C<>H. A full load of Hampden on the nose... it immediately fills the room. On the palate you can tell it is young. The acidity is still quite high, but still fits. Otherwise, the classic Hampden profile here too. The same goes for the medium-length finish. A clean, high-quality bottling 👍🏻

In der Nase volle Power Hampden C<>H ... viel Ester Annas Mango Papaya und Banane aber auch das Fass kommt durch und bringt etwas Vanille aber auch etwas frisches mit . Am Gaumen Fruchtig Frisch Funky ... etwas viel Säure mit jungem Holz . Alkohol ok aber nicht perfekt eingebunden. Generell fällt der Gaumen schon ab für mich. Abgang finde ich gut da er nicht zuviel Bitterkeit mit sich bringt. Nachdem was ich schon alles Probieren durfte sehe ich hier im Leben keine 9 vor dem komma....😅😅

Quelle belle surprise que ce jeune Hampden C<>H ! Le nez est très expressif, hyper aromatique sur les fruits, notamment le citron vert, l’ananas, la banane, la mangue et la papaye bien mûrs. L’esprit Hampden, tantôt médicinal et fermenté, tantôt gourmand et pâtissier, est également au rendez-vous avec pléthore d’arômes riches et intenses. Un vrai régal pour les nasaux. L’étonnement continue en bouche avec cette incroyable buvabilité. C’est huileux, lourd, funky, sec et tellement rond en même temps. Le rhum est facile d’approche mais tellement dense et développé aromatiquement pour son âge, c’est du grand cinéma : maracuja, papaye, mangue, banane et ananas se mêlent aux esters, au vernis à ongles, aux solvants et à la colle pour un profil bien gras et crasseux, magnifique. Les fruits confits, le massepain ainsi que la nuance boisée et vanillée du profil apportent un vrai plus en bouche. L’alcool est bluffant d’intégration. La finale est extrêmement longue, chaude et tannique, asphyxiant le palais de ses esters et de ses fruits exotiques avec une touche mielleuse ultra réconfortante dans ce profil herculéen et délicat à la fois. Un superbe Hampden, un monstre de richesse et de funk qui ferait pâlir bon nombre de mises en bouteille actuelles.

Kaum im Glas, strömt der Duft von Jamaika in den Raum. überraschend süss . Viel Lack, knusprig und tropisch, ganz im Stil von Hampden. Aromen von gegrillter Ananas, reifen tropischen Früchten und im Abgang ein Mangokompott mit roten Beeren. Das Überreife ist da aber sehr gut eingebunden. Trotz der hohen Ester wirkt der Rum frisch und lebendig, fast spritzig. Der Abgang ist warm und rund. Macht man nichts falsch.

🥃 Hampden C<>H 2021 – 65,7 % Ein kraftvoller Rum, voller Ester und reifer Früchte! Trotz seines jungen Alters ist die Integration gelungen und das Ganze zeigt eine schöne Ausgewogenheit. Zwar jung, aber bereits komplex – eine sehr schöne Auswahl für eine WLP-Abfüllung. Abgang ist auch sehr Fruchtig, leichte Säure die sich in Honig süße wandelt.

Sehr guter C<>H Hampden, der trotz seines jungen Alters amtlich abliefert. Warm, fruchtig, (sehr) süß, feines Holz und nicht zu aggressive (aber sehr präsente) Ester, wenig Säure. Hat mich positiv überrascht.

Der 4 Jährige Hampden überzeugt trotz des jungen Alters mit einer vollen Ladung Ester und tropische Früchten. Da ist ist noch viel Potenzial im Jahrgang. Kleiner Pubktabzug, weil er mir persönlich etwas zu viel Säure mitbringt.

Really goooood young C<>H, for only 4y old you have a lot of esters with overripe pineapple, mango and banana. The after taste is long & fresh ! I can imagine in the future a new older C<>H 7y will be the bomb !!!
