Top review from Henry Davies:
"My first Dutch rum - it’s an interesting rum. Don’t really get the typical pot still notes but it has layers. Brown sugar on the nose, with some cinnamon and spices. The mouth is a bit less refined and lack integration. Copper and metallic notes with an alcoholic twang similar to schnapps or grappa. The finish is a bit limited and an almost salty and menthol note. It’s hard to place an not entirely to my tastes but better than many"

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"For me, clearly the strongest of the three current Windmill bottlings. As if you put your nose in a bag of butterscotch candies (86 points) and lick with your tongue at liquid, still warm caramel (82 points). Really extraordinary in its uniqueness, how do you get something like that without additives!?very high recognition value."

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Not bad, but not stunning either. Remains somewhat behind the concise 8-year-old caramel bomb in the Oloroso cask. Nose: vanilla, solid, seems older (83 points); Palate: vanilla again, some coconut, long and warm persistence (81 points). Is this a rum from Barbados? The question of origin unfortunately leaves one perplexed with all three bottlings - why on earth don't the wind millers state that?"

"As expected, the weakest of the three current windmills, for me without recognition value. Maybe what for a high-quality cocktail? In the nose soft wood (here he gets 76 points from me). On the palate, the rum is rather tart for my liking, I notice nothing of the sweetness of any PX cask (68 points)."

Top review from Schnapsschuesse:
"Lots of port/red wine on the nose, with a medicinal note. Quite intense for just 3 years. Quite exciting. In the mouth then quite strong and noticeably 46%. Very porty up front, then classic young rum with lots of wood and a hint of raisin towards the back. The percentages suit it well, unfortunately not much else happens here. It remains solid."
