Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 50
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"I have to admit that during the premiere tasting of Ed. 49 and Ed. 50, the Jamaican simply picked me up more. But this is really not due to the poorer quality of the old Versailles, but rather to the flavor of this style in general, which doesn't appeal to me as the rum is too "bright" and too "spicy" overall. Specifically, I can taste aniseed and pepper here, only a little graphite. Fruit? No, not really. At least not at first. I only get a hint of light yellow fruit after more than an hour. A challenging rum, not easy to drink, whose strength for me clearly lies in the pronounced finish, it tingles so beautifully on the tongue. But due to its bulkiness, the rum also has something majestic and sublime about it - a worthy representative for the anniversary bottling. Congratulations, Spirit of Rum!"
Finest Demerara Rum
Top review from zabo:
"Genauso stelle ich ihn mir vor und genauso schmeckt er auch. Trotz des geringen ABV ist er denoch genial und braucht auch wirklich mehr wumms. Rundum ein sehr gelungener Tropfen, von dem ich sehr gerne eine Flasche besitzen würde."
Tamosi Kanaima
Top review from mto75:
"good Versailles profile, but rather on the spicy side on the way with allspice, tobacco, oak. The (quite sparse) fruity notes go towards dried date and dried apple rings. Similar profile on the palate. In the finish toasty-dry"
Guyana Rum VSG
Top review from cigares :
"Tasting at J. B. Labat. A full nose of nutty butter, molasses, young leather, prunes and spices. Heavy, dark aromas on the palate with molasses, brown sugar and bitter caramel. The aromas tend to evolve on the palate, which is very interesting, as the bitterness and spice strengthen and disappear in turn. The finish is long but too one-dimensional, with bitter coffee and heavy but not overpowering oak. A very fine release from the Guildive cellar."
Demerara
Top review from cigares :
"Community Tasting Enmore 1990. No 4. Un rhum avec une couleur foncée, un nez de verni et de banane sur-mûre, de rôti, un peu décadent. Une attaque nette en bouche, pas diluée malgré l’ABV assez léger, des arômes disparates de cuir, de fruits. Un côté gourmand très agréable. Une finale longue, un peu amère, sucrée et heureusement avec une belle acidité. Le verre vide se révèle bien plus aromatique."

Top review from Tschusikowsky:
"No rum for the sober palate. The Versailles profiles need with me 3-4cl until they arrive. First impression was not great with all. Later, however, they unfold some complexity. This one still seems slightly watered down."
El Dorado Rare Collection VSG
Top review from cigares :
"A rum decried by the RumX community and praised by Serge Valentin. So I had to buy it and taste it. I was rather disappointed when I opened the bottle, but I'm familiar with the phenomenon... A nose of old leather, flambéed banana, brown sugar and tea, with good concentration. A slightly peaty palate with fat and brown sugar. The finish is abrupt, but honey and cask reappear after a while. The empty glass is splendid with previously hidden aromas. Apart from the fact that this rum is too lively when opened, I find nothing but good in it. It's perfectly balanced and deep. It could have a slightly broader aromatic palette, but then it would be one of the great Demerara rums. Buy it before it disappears from the shelves."
El Dorado Single Still Versailles
Top review from cigares :
"A very warm nose with cedar wood, plum, black licorice and dried fruit. The palate is soft and very aromatic, with cedar, black licorice (sweet), dried fruit and a taste of roast veal. I feel transported to my grandmother's kitchen and I'm sucking on black vanilla. The finish is long, with a very elegant woodiness and all the other aromas gently fading away. The empty glass also smells of old leather, vegetal and slightly bitter. A very fine rum, very drinkable and very rich in aromas, even if one could dream of an ABV a little higher."
El Dorado Special Cask Finish White Port Casks
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
