Top review from Mirco:
"Based on the very high ratings, I would have expected more. Overall, somewhat one-sided in the dark and spicy direction. For a higher rating, I miss more fruit, balance and better integrated alcohol. Seems a bit beastly."
Trinidad (Ping 15)
Top review from mto75:
"finally the highly praised Ping 15 in the glass (many thanks to Eugen!). The red fruits are there, but not as intense as in the 2008s, but very round and rather sweet towards raspberries / blackberries and cream candy. After some standing time, I also imagine Fanta / orange soda. Toasted barrel, caramel and mocha on the palate. The Ping 15 knows how to please, just by its balance!"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 42
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"I have The Duchess in my glass alongside the new Rumclub Ten Cane from 2008. My first impression is that the two rums form the poles of the spectrum of the 2008 Vintage's profile. The Duchess is super dark in the glass, bringing a deep berry flavor and dark spices. The Rumclub is much lighter - a few shades lighter in color. Aromatically, this Ten Cane is closer to some TDLs: peach, almond, ginger. There are also similarities, but I find it difficult to describe them - most likely in the woodiness, the spiciness - a rather opposing Trinidad style? The differences outweigh the differences for me. I would always consider the Rumclub to be a TDL - I even find the characteristic mint. But the agricole notes of the Duchess are missing. I'm not sure if I'm completely off the mark here, but this smells like a TDL. I can't get off this horse: Peach mint iced tea in the mouth. The finish is long, smooth and full of peach menthol. Well ok, I think it's clear what I'm trying to say. At the end of this review, I no longer believe that these are two poles of a vintage, but two completely different distilleries. The rum is still very tasty. Roughly on a par with the 2009 TDLs. I poured myself an old sample of an RdL Ten Canes and the new 2008 Swell TDL. The similarities to the TDL are very great here, the differences to the RdL Ten Cane not so pronounced. This calls for a second round, preferably blind."

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"After a quarter of a bottle it is still a top rum. I'm thrilled. This Duchess is significantly woodier and toastier than its predecessor and much heavier than the RdL bottlings from the Collectors Ed. The cherry and berries only come to the fore behind the glue and burnt spices - more red fruit jelly than fresh fruit. There is also some polish and cardboard. In the mouth, the berries are more present and even riper, like in an old Tempranillo, plus dark chocolate, crumbly tannins, the spices and artichoke and beet? The finish is super relaxed and the alcohol integration, which was previously the weak point of all 10 Canes, is much better in this one! Minimal criticism: Unfortunately, the rum lacks the citrus facet that characterized the other 2008s. Uodate: In crosstasting with the new Trinidad rum club. Could still understand my tasting notes very well. The rum club doesn't want to classify itself so confidently. The Rumclub lacks the sour cherries, the berries, the old Agricole. Instead, it brings the typical TDL peach and mint iced tea. I'm confused and need to do a bigger comparison session."
Wild Series Rum Ten Cane No. 11 (Rombo)
Top review from Oliver:
"On the nose, a pineapple note that I often detect in Ten Cane. In addition, there is a great spice with lots of cinnamon. However, the alcohol could be a little better integrated. Intense and spicy on the palate. Berry fruit notes come in and bring a nice contrast to the spice. An endless finish. Great Ten Cane!"

"the nose is gigantic! Sour cherry, red grapes, raspberry, currant, cinnamon and again this typical rose, mango and sandalwood note in the background🌹🥭in the taste then incredibly harmonious, spicy and complex.Cherry, raspberry, red grape, currant, cocoa, milk chocolate, cinnamon fruit bread with candied grapefruit zesten and ginger, slightly salty notes to it and the rose resonates beautifully in the background without dominating and rounds off the whole wonderfully.... Partly but also a little wet cardboard and a lot of wood the longer my sample is open. all in all a terrific Ten Cane. Who likes old Agricoles a la j bally 2000 will come here fully at his expense!quite great cinema!❤️🇹🇹🤘"

"Incredibly good ten cane. Very elegant and drinkable, in contrast to my previous benchmark ten canes of duchess less complex and almost unusually sweet for this style but also extremely round and mild."
Wild Series Rum No. 48 (Whisky Watcher) BTXCA
Top review from Thunderbird:
"A very good Ten Cane, with lots of freshness, wood, red fruit and a changing interplay of aromas between spices and fruit. It would have deserved a few more points if the alcohol had been a little better integrated, one more note: this rum needs a lot of time in the glass, but it's worth the wait😉"

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Very interesting and complex. Medium-long finish, but not very punchy. I have to be honest, I cannot distinguish this marked black cherry aroma, in fact I found it well balanced. On the finish lychee/cherry. I sensed fleeting notes of marzipan / pastry. If I drink without thinking too much about the bouquet then I perceive its complexity and taste it really well. A very interesting rum that needs attention."

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"Meanwhile, I am a real Ten Cane fan. The profile is relaxed and yet not too simple. It is dominated by berries (currants and blackberries and spices (cumin, coriander seeds), plus some citrus and a somewhat imposed vanilla note from the oak.In the mouth, this is unfortunately a bit too tame, rather sweet fruits, plus some spices from the nose. In the soft finish, a few tannins are added.Compared to the somewhat stronger sister bottling, it is a bit less complex and intense, but more relaxed to drink. Tie."
Collectors Series
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"The nose is deep and offers exactly what I love about Ten Cane: it's berry - even more berry than the sister bottling, more like the first Duchess. The wood brings the typical cumin, plus grapefruit and a hint of tobacco. The alcohol is not too present despite 62.8% - in the mouth it then unfortunately makes itself felt with something too strong. The berry profile transfers well to the tongue, the fruit is a bit riper and drier. Cumin again, woody tannins bring some bitterness, plus a stimulating saltiness. The finish retains mostly the tart flavors of the tannins and lemon zest. Significantly darker and more powerful than the 60.3% version, more depth but alcohol and bitterness make the mouth more demanding. For me, therefore, on a level."
Ten Cane 2008
Top review from Martin Švojgr:
"An interesting technical rum from the closed TenCane distillery formerly owned by LVMH (Moet Hennessy). Right after smelling it, the aroma evokes heavy red wine, cognac, spices, burnt honey. On the palate, burnt honey, red fruits, heavy spices, harsh red wine come out again. All rounded off with technical notes that come out more on the finish."
L‘Esprit Ten Cane
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Puhh... Grundsätzlich aromatisch gesehen ein guter ten cane aber der Alkohol ist hier dermaßen schlecht eingebunden das es echt anstrengend ist hier nach Aromen zu suchen. Lange atmen lassen hilft hier leider auch nicht. Es bleibt hauptsächlich der Geschmack von verbranntem Plastik, sorry. Nachtrag: bei 2. Verkostung kommt eine schöne toffee Beeren süße dazu, daher leichte Verbesserung der Bewertung."

"Edit: Rest and a few drops will do him good. Unfortunately I had to adjust it down a bit. Now that I've finally been able to try a TenCane from another bottler, it remains a very good rum for me. In general, it appeals to me very much. With a little water it unfolds its aromas. Only the alcohol could be better integrated."
Trinidad Rum
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This was a very surprising rum to give a go. Very fruity from nose to finish and also with a wooden touch all the way. What I like a both this particular rum is the way it changes from nose to palate and then again to the finish. It does so and still maintains a very high level of integrity. The smoky wood flavours on the palate and finish really puts this one up there with the top shelf ones. Sad that Ten Cane is history because they could really make unique flavours."
Spirit of Art no. 2
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A very nice ten cane, better than the one from CDI I'd say. Fruity from nose to finish with spices and a delfining roasted barrel without it being too much. A touch of rubber and solvents are also there. "

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:

Top review from Thunderbird:
"RumX-Kalender Nr. 5 Ein sehr verhaltener Ten Cane! Nicht der Stärkste seiner Art…die klassischen Aromen kommen nicht so präsent daher, alles in allem aber okay 👍🏻 Heute das zweite mal im Glas: Er bekommt zwei Punkte dazu, da er mir heute insgesamt gefälliger und harmonischer erscheint"

Top review from Oliver:
"Exciting bottling from the closed Ten Cane distillery. On the nose quite a lot of floral notes (roses) and pineapple. Apricot also comes through after some time breathing. On the palate, the reduction does not tread too thinly. Also floral and fruity again. Nice complexity. Conclusion: it does not always have to be "Caroni". 😃🥃"
