Top review from Jakob:
"The 2001 vintage from the South Pacific Distillery manages to pick me up time and again. Here, a very own dirty note (burnt plastic) meets deep spice, menthol, wood, fruit esters, a minimum of caramel and plenty of medicinal hints. Must be liked or tolerated, aromatically the whole thing is in any case almost breathtakingly complex and worth consciously engaging in each sip - there is simply much to discover. My rating is certainly also a little dependent on my personal preference for very complex rums; but the breadth of the flavor spectrum is simply impressive."

"Wow, great selection! Full of esters, fruits, slight spices and a suprising vanilla gentleness. The dry finish stays with you for a long time, producing extra saliva that brings back the esters for a final goodbye. Alcohol is well integrated, what an orchestra of flavors. Top notch!"

Top review from Joachim Guger:
"What a great nose. Honey, smoke, fruit etc. Complex, perfectly balanced. In the mouth then the full load of plastic. Warm and strong, again a lot of honey. At the end you suck on a leather bag (real or yet imitation leather?).Geil. Really not my Beuteschema, but has surprised me positively.😄"

Top review from Leo Tomczak:
Leider recht kurzer Abgang.

Plantation Fiji Islands 2007 (Finished in Ferrand 10...
Top review from Jakob:
"The 2007 vintage is dominated by tropical fruits, which gallantly play to their strengths; they are joined by light sweetness of pastry and sugar as well as floral aromas. All of this plays out well on the palate, and the alcohol is well integrated. The fruit melange is very appealing and offers complexity, light tobacco aromas, a bit of tart spiciness and toasted aromas from the barrel. Overall, however, the spectrum remains a bit too straightforward, the present counterpoints to the herbal-fruity freshness and thus the other aromatic influences that could provide additional excitement are missing. However, this remains almost the only flaw in this rum, which basically knows how to convince absolutely."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Some migh consider this a light rum, but it's one of the best Fiji rums I have tasted. Fresh and fruity with some grass and flowers on there. I really like the smoky wood finish that last for a good while. On the first sip it is kind og heavy but it settles after that. Leave to rest for a good while and all the goodness comes at you. Leave the glass once empty and whif it after a couple of hours, pure joy I can tell you."

"I like this bottler and I have just oddered three different releases from Jamaica. Their average quality is pretty good and the price tage even better. The nose is fruity with smoky wood, vanilla, tea and a hint of varnish. I love the cherry flavour that becomes clearer if you leave the glass empty for a while. The palate is lightly dry with smoky wood, fruits and spices. There is a lovely minty touch in there as well. The finish is lightly dry with smoky wood and a mix of fruits. Price to quality is very good."

Top review from mto75:
"the 16 years in American oak are already very noticeable on the nose. With the oak barrel then also comes the accompanying vanilla flavor, plus some caramel. The alcohol also stings a bit on the nose. On the palate, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted flavors. Impression as with the Nobilis (No.16) 2004 South Pacific: unfortunately rather below average and far from the great 2001 bottlings."

Top review from Alex Kunath:

"I just returned from a luxury tasting I was invited to and I'm actually a bit tipsy this time because all the rums had a high proof. This tasting was Plantation extreme only and this is the fifth one of the six. This just keeps getting better. Some of the best Fiji has to offer and then matured to perfection by Plantation. Sweet and soft bodied rum very well balanced with the proof. Typical Jamaica style rum and you won't regret a sip or two. Price to quality is good. "

Top review from TheRhumhoe:

"Was long my Fiji reference - the 2009 is after 2001 so far de best vintage. Still a top rum - the IdR 2001 is only slightly better. The tropical fruits that you sometimes find has this one except for a present banana and a hint of lemon less, but he is strong on the vegetable side and the typical rubber or wetsuit-like is super integrated: dissolved in solvent biowaste. Overall, for me, Fijis are often stronger in the mouth than in the nose. Here, the nose is already expressive without the risk of confusion with Jamaica. The herbal is also quite different from an Agricole, more fermented, rotting than fresh, grassy. The resinous herbs from the finish linger for a long time."

"Another retaste and it lost a few points, but still a great rum looking at the price tag. Price to quality you get a lot for your money. Fruit and esters combined with a nice spicy and warm palate. I get a light honey note on the nose and palate as well as a hint of mint on the finish. Really nice rum."

"First impression at the HanseSpirit:Fulfills exactly the expectations I had and whose fulfillment I had hoped.Fruity, oily, pleasant workshop aromas...Nachtasting follows. So, and now again in peace at home:Nose: totally pleasant, spicy-fruity, with this special oily texture, which together with pencil shavings and some varnish or glue reminiscent of the fumes from a precision engineering workshop. Interesting also an intense yogurt note that underscores the subtle fruity sweetness. In fruit here gooseberry with lime together with canola honey. The over 60% is very well integrated here. 86Palate: initially that oily, artificial attack again, slightly salty-bitter, with pencil mien. Slightly resinous and something like polish to it. The fruit is again reminiscent of gooseberry, this time with lime zest. Also, the yogurt note comes through clearly again. I really like it. 84Must correct the rating from yesterday significantly upwards. Now 85 instead of 80. Very nice Fiji profile!"

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:

Top review from TheRhumhoe:

"Rum on the side! It smells like fermented molasses with lots of fruit flavors and the palate yo-yo's on the peat, with great length. So the bottle was almost empty, but great product. I don't understand the low scores!"

"#4116 First off, the price to quality is very good in my mind. A fruity rum with nice balance in wood and spices. The palate is warm, sweet and oily. There is a nice floral touch to the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is nice with some smoke and coconut."

"for a drinking strength Fiji delivers the here a pretty nice bouquet. nice intense citrus notes (grapefruit and lemon), slightly caramel, however, without becoming sweet but nice and dry and in addition the typical medicinal bicycle tube and bitter iodine notes, which are here but nicely integrated with an intense spicy note of earthy cardamom, as well as spicy turmeric and ginger. i like it! PLV is also absolutely fine!"
