"Jetzt ein „echter“ Chairman‘s. Fassstark und kräftig. Nase: schön kräftig und intensiv. Würzig-fruchtig-holzig. Minzig-frisch, kühl in der Nase. Frische Zitrone zusammen mit Kumquat, Johannisbeere und Brombeere. Aber auch trockene Vanille und altes Zimt-Pulver. Hinten raus Schokolade und etwas weiche Lakritze. Das gefällt mir. 87 Gaumen: der legt ja mal eine interessante Geschmackskurve hin… zu Beginn intensiv, erst leicht salzig, dann minzig-frisch, dann weich und gedämpft und sehr schokoladig mit etwas Lakritz. Wird anschließend leicht metallisch und endet bei Safran mit Sesam. Ist nicht total rund, dafür aber umso interessanter. 90 Macht Spaß."

"In my opinion a mix between long pond teca 2003 and the white river antoine!A really particular rum where you go from fermented and acrid parts to a moldy part to a sour fruit!From the background a charred feeling not annoying!Not for everyone but I like it very much!"

"Another retaste and I stick to my initial score. This is the bomb of Chairman’s Reserve. A very intense and well balanced rum. I was very locky to get a sample and I like it a lot. The nose is intense and has smoky wood and fruit trailed by cinnamon and coffee. The palate takes off where the nose left. A warm and intense rum, yet well balanced with smoky wood, fruits and spices. The finish is extremely long and warm with smoky wood, dried fruits and spices. Price to quality can be argued, when I compare it to my other old Chairman’s Reserve rums for which I paid less than half :-)"

"After pouring into the glass, the rum immediately takes possession of the surrounding air with thick, heavy swaths. Closer to the glass I find sour cherry, red berries and cassis. The fruit compote is accompanied by very pleasant and balanced roasted and barrel notes. Pleases me excellently. I have compared on the fly with some other St Lucia but this one is a blast on the nose! On the palate, the tannins clearly have the upper hand: lots of spice, oak, leather, salty licorice. The fruit is only subtly in the background and from the bitter category. The rum reminds me of old Armagnac on the palate. The ever-long aftertaste is clearly dominated by barrel and spice. I would have liked the fruits of the nose to reappear but so there is a certain break between nose and palate. The bitter notes, however, are not in the unpleasant range for my sensation. Regardless, an excellent, intense, powerful rum."

"Sehr tolle Gesamtkombo. Ich schmecke nebst den Früchten Safran raus, was mir persönlich sehr gut gefällt. Verbrannte Heidelbeeren. Alkohol dürft noch ein wenig besser eingebunden sein. Braucht Luft zum Atmen. Ein wenig Wasser funktioniert auch, bringt noch mehr Frucht hervor. Fürs Alter noch ordentlich wild. Aber viel Komplexität und Umami."

"Super funky Stoff hier aus st. Lucia. Geschmacklich komplett anders wie alles bisherige aus st.lucia weil 100% sugarcane/Agricole. An der Nase fantastisch fruchtig nach Ananas, Limettenabrieb und karamellisierter Banane, etwas Maracuja mit Minze und leicht florale Anklänge. Geschmacklich dann deutlich frischer und trockener und kräftiger als erwartet... würzig, säuerlich-frisch, fruchtig und bitter zugleich. Im Abgang kommt Menthol und leicht verbrannter Fahrradschlauch/Gummi mit durch sowie etwas Bitterorange. Sehr abgefahren und spannend und definitiv mal was anderes aus St. Lucia! Für eine höhere Bewertung müsste er etwas harmonischer sein aber für den muss man schon echt Bock und Zeit für haben! 😅"
