"I just cracked open this bottle because I finished the older brother. Just noticed I didn't score the older ones yet, so I will have to check my binders for it. An absolutely wonderful rum, well balanced, lovely nose and great palate with a perfect medium to long finish. Flibuste is the only brand where I always buy at least 2 bottles of each of their old releases because I know their baseline is ver high. I can only recommend this rum even if you're not an Agricole fan. "

"Lorsqu’on évoque la Flibuste de La Favorite, on pense à un certain standard, le prestige et on se réfère au meilleur de ce que propose la Martinique. Ce Millésime 2000 ne déroge pas à la règle. Le nez est extrêmement équilibré, trouvant la parfaite harmonie entre les saveurs florales et végétales (canne à sucre et herbes), les épices douces (vanille, muscade et réglisse) les fruits secs (pruneaux et raisins secs) et les légères notes torréfiées de fruits à coque. C’est très doux et élégant, avec une belle touche de gourmandise qui fait plaisir sur un rhum aussi vieux. En bouche, l’attaque est tout aussi douce. C’est tres suave, crémeux et un peu épais, donnant de la consistance au palais. On ressent l’influence de la vanille, des épices et du bois, mais les saveurs florales et les herbes se montrent également et apportent une touche de fraîcheur agréable qui contrebalance la gourmandise. Les fruits secs et les fruits exotiques sont également présents. L’ensemble est encore une fois très homogène et aucune saveur ne prédomine. La finale est longue, toujours imprégnée des herbes et des notes florales, mais aussi des épices, des fruits secs et confits et de la vanille, avec un soupçon de chocolat. Loin du cliché du « jus de pruneaux » parfois décrié, cette cuvée se veut très élégante et douce, parfaite pour se détendre et accompagner une journée de repos."

"I wouldn't say this is a watered down rum, but it's extremely well balanced and well rounded and in a tasting this should take spot one. Fruity and nice wood well balanced with spices. The alcohol is barely noticed."

"28.05.2021 Relaxing at home with some nice samples. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Wood, plum, spice, light honey, light chocolate, faint licorice. Palate Balanced, complex, fruity, plum, light cherry, floral, medium spicy, medium dry, wood, faint smoke. Finish Medium to long, wood, light prunes, light floral, medium dry, light spicy."

"Décriée par certains pour ses “ajouts” la cuvée La Flibuste reste au nez et en bouche un rhum d’exception. Il ne faut pas renier son plaisir. Complexité, harmonie et profondeur. C’est ce rhum qui m’a initié au monde des grands rhums de mélasse. Il est comme une passerelle entre ces deux mondes. Je rêve de déguster “la Flibuste” brut de fût bien que ce ne soit pas au programme de la distillerie."

"Al naso dolce e caramellato con qualche agrume, legno, nocciole tostate e vegetale. Al palato è corposo con legno nobile, vaniglia, caramello/crema pasticcera, un po' di frutti dolci (datteri), qualche nota di bourbon, di spezie leggere (pepe) e un po' di sapidità, il tutto estremamente rotondo. Il finale è delicato seppur persistente, sembra avere 40°. Nel bicchiere vuoto fermentati e canna. Il voto oscilla tra 9 e 9.1"

"MaJ: Rating adjusted downwards. It's very good but less expressive in a dry ti-punch compared to DePaz 55% (the new reference in white agricole). Original verdict: Clearly above the Dillon 2019 monovarietal. There's a little cellar note that smells musty but, big surprise, it's very pleasant and adds more complexity to the work. If you're thinking in a "should I buy this bottle" sort of way, do you also know that I'm a big incorruptible fan of white rums made with red cane and only red cane. For those who share my taste, highly recommended. Truly high quality. The thick red wax seal around the mouth adds a touch of class to the experience too."

"Al naso profumatissimo con canna intensa e dolce, floreale, vegetale(verde) e qualche agrume. Al palato è limpido e intenso con note di terriccio di sottobosco autunnale, muschio, canna dolce, fiori, leggero agrume, super delizioso! Una "grappa" con grande personalità, per me quintessenza della canna bleue. Nel bicchiere vuoto muschio e terra."

"The nose is elegant and fragrant, with sweet dried fruits (dates, apricots, figs), vegetables, young wood, hazelnuts, pastry, citrus. The palate maintains the same aromas with vegetal dominance (even something earthy) and added pepper. The whole round with little depth and body, a short, but delicious finish"

"It flows a woody, earthy (after a fresh summer rain) smell on one! On the palate, the wood dominates at first, then develops the typical grassy flavor, almost steppe-like, a slight spiciness can also be tasted ! Alcohol is virtually imperceptible!The finish is almost to be described as long and is grassy-earthy.... delicious"

"#4244 08.09.2023 I got 6 secret samples from a friend as a blind tasting and that has been a lot of fun spread over two evenings. I love La Favorite because they tend to maintain a high level of quality in their releases. This one is equally nice and the price to quality is very good in my mind. Fresh some might even say intense profile with fruits and peppery flavours. Well balanced with a long finish. The empty glass has some stronger licorice and iodine."

"This one was a huge surprise and the price to quality is very good. The nose is very fresh and floral with fruits, sugarcane and a light medicinal note. A true Agricole nose and not for beginners in my mind. The palate is velvety and well balanced. Again very fresh and floral with fruits, anise, sugarcane and a touch of grass. The finish is medium to long with sugarcane and vegetal notes and a hint of medicinal notes."

"Normally I don't drink a lot of rhum blanc but I do really like those from La Favorite. They have a tendency to have a general high quality. This one had to rest as well before it really let go of its potential. True Agricole flavours with grass, super fresh and lightly fruity with spice, cane and licorice topped off with a peppery edge. Long warm and spicy finish, i like it a lot actually. Price to quality is super good. Looking forward to the 2019 and 2020 in the next tasting meetup."

"Un nez de vieille cave humide. Une bouche végétale avec toujours la cave humide, une bouche plutôt fermée. Il manque quelques watts mais surtout la finale est décevante. L’impression qu’il y a eu un mauvais fût dans le lot. Regoûté et je me trouve trop sévère, même s’il manque des watts, le rhum est doux et raffiné. La finale n’est pas si mal. Ouvert il y a une année, peut-être que l’oxydation a fait des merveilles."

"Tried alongside a more powerful brother. It’s complex and interesting with pepper and sugar on the nose alongside some more green vegetal notes. The mouth leads with fresh sugarcane with some agricole notes at the back. Finish wise it is less refined and drops away somewhat which detracts from the experience"
