"Dark and oily. Very heavy, the scent lies him room. Chocolate, coffee, wood, caramel, leather. Only when you put your nose in the glass the fresh, grassy notes of an Agricoles come to light.a tart, long-lasting aftershave in the mouth. It now completely denies its origin, after a few minutes you briefly feel some grassy freshness on the palate.Craftsmanship very good, well balanced, alcohol integration a model. Wood you just have to likeFriends of old, heavy Demeraras, this is THE Agricole for you."

"This is not a bad rum, but I would have loved a higher ABV. The nose is grassy with fruits and spices as well as some wood. I get mostly apple here. The palate is spicy/peppery with grass and fruit in the front trailed by vanilla, wood, leather and a light herbal note. The finish is medium long and warm with wood, spices and fruits."

"The emotion of drinking an aged rum, even if it has spent most of its life in the bottle. A very dry nose with a slight earthiness and vanilla. Lots of finesse and elegance throughout. Tropical fruit on the palate, pineapple and banana. A surprisingly long finish, with sugarcane and fruit. I'm sure the rum continues to evolve in bottle. Not as strong as the Courcelles 1972 at 47% and 54%, which have a broader aromatic palette, but a very fine rum all the same."

"Just after its brother st james V&B. It's the same kind of Martinique profile, with a very present, greedy woodiness. This one is perhaps a little finer on the nose, a little spicier on the palate. It's an excellent martiniquais, but once again a profile that's perhaps too woody to enter the 90+ category."

"It's not very often you can try old rums so whenever I get the chance without costing me an arm and a leg I'll give it a go. Old doesn't always mean good, but I did like this one. In the beginning it was very light on the nose but after a few minutes it started to develop. The profile has light wood and saltiness to it as well as an olorosso/oxidised note. Considering the age pretty good overall."

"Un rhum dégusté au WLP. Un nez étonnement vif vu les millésimes, du végétal mais aussi des fruits jaunes et des fruits tropicaux. La bouche donne des notes d’encaustique à la cire, de l’amande fraîche et de la feuille de figuier. Un côté salé commence une finale plutôt douce, longue et se terminant sur le bois. Je me sens en Sicile dans un verger en désordre et le verre vide raconte une histoire de vieux château."

"A rum tasted at the WLP and in Cologne. A warm nose with walnuts, Cementit, old hemp rope and, above all, rapeseed flowers. A fairly lively attack on the palate, with leather, glue and wood, followed by fruit, yellow fruit and apple. A long, elegant finish. A fine rum, all elegance except on the attack."

"Decided to have a sip today and picked this one from the shelf of Agricole. A very good rum Agricole from Martinique. It has a wonderful Agricole nose and a spicy well balanced palate. The finish is very long and spicy with a tad of toffee. Typical Martinique rum at a very good price tag. If you like Agricole rums this one is definitely a must try. "

"Pretty good rum from Bally and you get what you pay for. The Agricole notes are there just in a light version. The nose is warm, fruity and woody with nutmeg, tobacco, leather and a hint of varnish. The palate is also fruity and woody with sugarcane, leather, tobacco and a hint of iodine and flowers. The finish is medium long with wood, spices and dried fruits."

"Verkostet auf der Kirsch Cruise 2024. Für mich ein eher schwächerer aus der Bally Linie. Schön ihn doch mal probieren zu können, aber überzeugt hat er mich leider nicht. Da gibt es weit aus bessere die ich bis dato im Glas hatte. Für mich eher ein "Einsteiger Rum""

"La Route des Rhums Adventskalender 2023 Nr. 13 J. Bally Blanc. Hier ein Agricole wie er im Buche steht. Nase schön frisch, bestehend aus Agricole und Zuckerrohr. Am Gaumen dann ebenfalls frisch, Agricole, Zuckerrohr und zusätzlich tropische Früchte."
