"A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. The nose is highly aromatic, with lots of fruit, citrus and herbaceous notes. The palate is marked by lemon and other citrus fruits, with a spiciness that is not very present on the nose. A very fine rum marked by its distinctive aromas."

"Very interesting profile. The Martinique characteristics are there, with a fruity, ripe edge. Added to this is the alembic effect, which gives it a roasted edge. The woodiness is pleasant, but more on the cherry side. A rum that's right up my alley, except for the ridiculous price tag... Edit: the nose is warm, gourmand and charming. So is the first taste, the second taste and the finish are much spicier."

"I love it! Pear, salt, vegetable, I love it. Always top-notch, we enjoy it every time we open it! To sum up, my tasting notes: Nose: Pear, Vegetable, Sugar cane On the palate: Lemon zest, Yellow fruit, Salty, Peppery, Pear Finish: Salty, Vegetal. Opened again today, the bottle breathes well and the rum remains instact."

"Nice tasting yesterday of rums I rarely meet in tastings. This one is lovely and fruity with spices and roasted wood to it. There is a light floral note that I like a lot. Price to quality is OK. "

"Retasting this one and I stick to my score. Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. A very fresh rum with nice fruits and floral notes. ABV has been integrated really well, just let it rest for a while before giving it a go! The empty glass has stronger notes of cherry and fresh grass notes."

"Au nez, la canne est encore trÚs présente sur ce rhum assez jeune mais pourtant déjà bien marqué par le bois. Plein de choses sympa : pùtissier, floral, boisé. Avec une petite odeur type bois de santal trÚs fraßche. Sensation confirmée en bouche avec un rhum trÚs suave. Une vanille bien agréable apparaßt avant que le poivre apporte un piquant vif. Belle bouteille !"

"Un nez d'alambic, doux sur le métal cuivré. Une bouche grasse florale envahissante , avec l'alcool en second non dérangeant. Une bonne longueur, florale aussi. Particulier et excellent dans sa particularité."

"Un rhum blanc puissant et intense tout au long de la dĂ©gustation. Le nez est extrĂȘmement vĂ©gĂ©tal, on y perçoit des arĂŽmes de terre, de champignons, dâherbes sĂšches, de canne Ă sucre et des fleurs. Les Ă©pices et les fruits secs pointent le bout de leur nez aprĂšs aĂ©ration. Lâattaque en bouche est vive, tranchante et trĂšs nette. Le cĂŽtĂ© vĂ©gĂ©tal et floral est toujours trĂšs prĂ©sent, mais les notes de piment et de fruits exotiques (mangue notamment) se font plus remarquĂ©es. Les fruits apportent un peu de douceur Ă ce profil extrĂȘme, aussi chaud et sec que le dĂ©sert. Le profil est peut-ĂȘtre lĂ©gĂšrement dĂ©sĂ©quilibrĂ© avec un surplus dâalcool un peu trop perceptible en bouche. La finale est trĂšs longue et tout aussi chaude. Elle porte encore sur la tryptique Ă©picĂ©e, fruitĂ©e et vĂ©gĂ©tale, avec la mĂȘme force . Clairement pas un rhum Ă laisser entre toutes les mains, un peu brutal mais qui ferait merveille en Tiâpunch."

"#4745 17.06.2024 Running samples at home. Nose Balanced, sugarcane, vegetal, melon, faint citrus, light herbs. Palate Round, spicy, warm, vegetal, faint floral, sugarcane, light citrus, faint nutts. Finish Medium long, fresh, light metallic, sugarcane, faint mango, light lemon. The empty glass has light honey, olive and wet grass."

"Soleil de Minuit is a complex blend of 10 different rums. AOC rums from Martinique and both cane juice and molasses rum from Guadeloupe, so itâs not an Agricole. A 1710 is aged and blended at the Le Simon distillery in Martinique. The total aging is between 6 and 20 years for the 2020 bottling I review here. The final aging is made in former cognac barrels which is clearly recognizable during tasting."
