"Retasting and leaving the original note 😊 This is a pretty reasonable rum that could do well for deserts in my mind. The nose starts out with sweet caramel and fruits followed with vanilla and light wood. Tha palate is lightly dry with fruit, caramel and spices. The lightly dry palate also serves up ginger nuts and tobacco with some oak. The finish is medium long with oak and raisin followed by licorice and some tobacco. Price to quality is kind of OK thinking that this is an anniversary release."

"Way too hot. Update: Crazy how it has evolved since the bottle was opened. Still a little hot but perfectly acceptable now. It has really opened up to reveal a fruity nose and creamy gourmand palate. Nice!"

"At the price tag this is a nice rum. It has to rest for a while or it'll bite you. Once rested it is full of fruity flavours alongside smoky oak. There's also a bit of chocolate and licorice hidden in there. Overall a good rum and worth the price tag."

"An der Nase wird man gleich vom unverkennbaren Port-Muff (ausnahmsweise positiv konnotiert!) begrüßt, am Gaumen typischer spanischer Stil mit deutlicher Portwein-Wärme, süffig! Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass dieser zugängliche, unkomplizierte Rum bei vielen Rumfreunden, die einem Finish nicht ablehnend gegenüberstehen, Anklang finden würde, auch der Preis ist ok."

"31.12.2022 Our yearly New Year party where we try new rums mixed with the personal bests. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light wood, alcoholic, fruits, faint coconut, light raisin, light chocolate, floral. Palate Unbalanced, alcoholic, light wood, faint smoke, raisin, faint citrus, light chocolate, spice, faint caramel, faint floral. Finish Medium long, unbalanced, alcoholic, light wood, light caramel, dried fruit, faint floral. Extra note. Even when rested for a long while the alcohol is still too dominant."

"Second tasting: very pleasing but the taste is within the expected range, except in the aftertaste I detect a honey note today (+1) Nose: not very exciting and alcoholic Palate: strongly spicy and quickly changes to bitter, burnt sugar Finish: focus on the barrel Solid Dominican rum without any great special features."

"Rebranding de Ron Esclavo, ce jus se veut assez doux et simpliste pour attirer le plus de monde. Au nez, les effluves de raisin et de fruits secs se confondent avec le chêne, le caramel, les épices douces et vanillées et les noix. C’est assez aguicheur pour quelqu’un qui découvre, mais fade pour un nez plus fin. En bouche, le chocolat se fait ressentir avec le café, le caramel, les épices et le raisin sec. C’est moelleux, sucré, sans grande complexité, juste un bonbon facile à boire pour les apéritifs. Inutile de se demander si l’alcool est bien intégré ici. La finale est étonnamment plus persistante qu’escomptée sur la longueur, mais ses arômes restent simples et identiques au registre décrit : sucre, café, caramel, raisin, chocolat, vanille, boisé léger notamment. Un petit rhum pour les petites occasions."

"In nose it’s quite pleasant, but in mouth, at palate and during the medium long finish it then becomes supersweet which destroy this rum completely for me. The rather high ABV of 57,5% can’t balance the sweetness at all. Another interesting thing about this rum, is that it’s possible to find a rum with exactly the same label with the name Ron Esclavo instead of Patridom. "

"C est le rhum pour lequel j ai pris le moins de plaisir à déguster. C est plus que spécial, je pense que l on aime ou on aime pas. Et malheureusement je n ai pas aimé , je l ai trouvé beaucoup trop dominé par l amertume et l astringence, il faut vraiment attendre que tout cela s estompe pour déceler une légère douceur sucrée. Je sais maintenant que ça existe , mais ça ne sera pas dans mon bar !"

"This rum is produced by Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos and the brand is owned by the Danish company 1423 Worldclass Spirits. If I should like a sweet rum it must be more complex and be bottled at an higher ABV to balance the sweetness. Overall it’s a very kind but dull rum in my opinion."
