"Tasted today with the Velier Patrimonio as a reference.Nose: A beautiful sweetness rises to me from the glass! Compared to the Patrimonio is clearly more fruit, especially citrus. Bourbon and vanilla are omnipresent.Mouth: Again the citrus, like Sicilian lemon marmalade. And typical Foursquare vanilla, bourbon and now the barrel. The Patrimonio has not so much fruitiness and more spice and barrel.Finish: The Tres Hombres has a surprising grassy / green note, and presents all the flavors even in the finish with a shifted emphasis towards spice. The Patrimonio is very similar here with an idea more spice.Great rum and m.M.n. more exciting than the Patrimonio, which is "too round" for me in direct comparison"

"I love the decanter. It looks like the regular 21 but it has a golden top making it stand out. A very drinkable rum, sweet and fruity and I think even a beginner would like it. Price to quality is not too good (the 21 year old is close and costs less than half this bottle). "

"Not as heavy as the 1970's one. But I like this a little bit more. Like an old coal fire and fruit tea. This is really complex in this specific flavours. This really shows how lovely these french west indies standards were."

"A wonderfully deep red gold. Hammer nose!!! Polish, dried fruit, tar and beef jerky. Very fine and complex. Reminiscent of a TECA and also has something of a Caroni. In the mouth then tropical fruits and now woody and spicy. Again very complex and fine. The 43% is quite OK, with a few % more it would be one of my absolute favorites. A really great rum and very different from today's Appletons."

"Second tasting: after about an hour in the glass develop aromas of buckwheat honey, I like better than the first time ( 2). Nose: first I perceive typical Agricole aromas and walnut. Then spices wood and then dried fruit.Seeeevery mild, alcoholic sharpness is practically absent.Palate: the rum seems watery in the mouth at the beginning. But that changes surprisingly: the flavors take over and then the alcohol is also feltAftertaste: it remains mainly Agricole notes hang. From Gardelfass I notice nothing, but also do not know what I have to look for. Possibly the barrel is responsible for the toasty notes."

"Now we're on to something interesting. On the nose, it's very tasty from a distance, but the alcohol rises a little in the glass. We have caramel coffee, a little vanilla, some fruit on top, it's complex even if a little dry. Medium finish. Cold; I wouldn't have bet on a RON. A pleasant surprise!"

"8,2:On the nose, first, Trinidad says 'Hi' to us, with that specific unforgettable heavy tarry, burning plastic/tyre, waxy, honey thick red fruits and mild Jamaican pastry, tropical fruits. We don't stop with Trinidad yet, smokey, roasted gunpowder with salted brown caramel joins the party. After airing party becomes crowded with Guyana's juicy sultanas, toasted wood and some tobacco afterwards. 8:On the palate smoky Bourbony orange with thick, syrupy, heavy, toasted wood, warm spices, buttery caramel, dried fruits-prunes, red fruits like cherry, ripe grapes, chocolate, dry sherry notes and some tobacco play a nice complex game of 'Hide' n'seek'. We find in the mouth Jamaican notes very mildly, surely overcrowded with Trinidad/Guyana and port characteristics. Some wisp of bitterness is noticed in the end. 8:The finish is thick, syrupy, woody and spicy with remnants of tar and smoke."

"One of the epic rum mixers, that was used by Victor Bergeron when he created Mai Tai back in 1944. The nose is mostly fruity and spicy. At the palate the fruitiness dominates with flavors of citrus, banana and pineapple. The finish has a certain sweetness and a long spiciness."

"Had a retest led by the co-founder Mr. Ian Burrell during the Pre-party to Sweden Rumfest at Cane Rum Society in Stockholm which confirmed my earlier review. The added picture is from the first test. ——————————————-Bought 2*3 cl of this rum, a blend from Mauritius (Gray’s) and Barbados (Foursquare). It’s good, but I expected more cause it’s Richard Seale and Ian Burrell that’s behind it. Overall I think it’s a quite great rum, but a little too weak. It’s unsweetened, but there are some sweetness so I think it maybe could be something for people who likes sweet rum that want to develop their rum drinking into less sweetened rum."
