Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Wow, what horny stuff, as they say nowadays! Mhoba is developing more and more from an exotic insider tip to a trendsetter. Who slowly leaves the beaten Jamaican paths like me, finds a perfect companion with Mhoba and especially with this rum. This Mhoba seems by the longer maturation clearly more adult than the (me) previously known rums of this distillery and has thus also the still reminiscent of Jamaica fruity ester horns repelled, it is instead noticeably spicy and herbal, with nicely balanced alcohol and super long, warming finish. The best Mhoba I have tasted so far."

"What an esterbomb from Mhoba! A lot of spice, solvents, nail polish (like UHU glue) in the nose(Very SPECIAL)! This is definitely not a beginner rum, also be patient… it has 75%! I‘ll give it some time and also add some drops of water…. maybe it opens up a bit more. Time will give this rum a lot 😎 i don‘t recommend it for cuba libre Nose: Solvents 🤪, fruity esters, funky, fresh, sugarcane, overripe fruits like banana, pineapple Mouth: Spicy, Solvents, astrigend, bitter, strong, funky, vegetal, olive, fruity Finish: short to medium long, dry astringend, bitter, caramel, vanilla, fresh, grass, herbal, young wood Update: I have this bottle now open for some months and it’s getting better and better drinkable/accessible."

"Phenomenal, how delicious! This is not for everyone, but if you like funky, almost gross smelling rum (if you know, you know) this is the thing. It smells like white dog and fights like a much younger distillate. Wonderful!"

"Quite sweet in the nose with notes of caramel and cherry/almond essens. The mouthfeel is sharp. At first sweet caramel and lemon curdy feeling then vanilla and a medium finish with peppery cocoa nippy notes"

"I like Mhoba Rums, not easy to drink, but quite complex. Great mix of fruit esters, caramel sweetness, chocolate, herbal agricole notes and roasty coffee. Spicy pungency is also present, though when undiluted the alcohol can even be perceived as cutting. Overall, a solid rum for a good price. Mhoba rums are something special!"

Top review from mto75:
"tasted together with the Habitation Velier and the Glass Cask. The FAQ is much more brute than the Velier, with a more pronounced Äppelwoi-Vinegar note. The Glass Cask is even more intense than the FAQ. With the FAQ, a nice aniseed cookie note is added after a while. On the palate, the Velier is a bit more floral than the two competitors, but both bring a nice, long spicy-sweet finish. My favorite of the three remains the Habitation Velier. It is not as intense, but is the most balanced/coherent."

Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"A unique Mhoba thanks to its ageing in local wood, which gives it exceptional aromas. The nose offers real meaty notes: meat, bacon, smoky and roasted notes make us think of a Sunday barbecue. The woody notes are followed by esters for funkiness, sugar cane for vegetation and banana and dried fruit for fruitiness. An atypical profile that comes across quite well. On the palate, dark, empyreumatic notes take center stage. Esters, spices, dried fruits and salt share the little space on the palate crushed by the improvised barbecue. At the crossroads of funk, barbecue, heaviness and fermentation, this is a highly original profile. The finish, of decent length, leaves a sensation of burnt wood and smoky notes. Floral and sugarcane notes counterbalance the empyreumatic warmth. A rum to enjoy with a barbecue, of course."

"This should be a Rum to generate some discussion, one either likes it or hates it. I never had a Pineapple infused Rum and was quite curious. Smell and taste remind me of a joung higher ester Jamaican, the Pineapple is there but complements this instead of being to forward. I also believe that this one is not sweetened, which helps in my opinion. This is something to sip when one needs some relaxation without stressing mind and senses, it is nice and not overly complex. I believe there might also be some cocktail applications."
