"Ein schluck Rum Geschichte . Fühle mich geehrt so etwas verkosten zu können...viel Dank @mto75 . Unglaublich toller Stoff. Dunkle Früchte, Leder ,Holz ,Schokolade, Kaffee etwas Minze ... es werden immer mehr Aromen mit der Zeit. Bin begeistert 🥃"

Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 31 (Navy Blend Rum...
Top review from Jakob:
"Definitely not a straightforward Navy blend. Impressive complexity, much Jamaican influence, the high age is clearly recognizable. Mint, eucalyptus, tropical fruits, wood, spices...impressive! As a lover of complex rums, I feel perfectly picked up here. Definitely not a standard Navyrum because the heavy Guyana notes are almost entirely underrepresented, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an exquisite release. Chapeau!"

Top review from Jakob:
"Chapeau to the two gentlemen blenders. An impressively good blend, an incredible play of flavors ... here is taste everything that makes a good Navy blend. This bottling is just so damn much fun!"

"Retasting and I still like it a lot. ------- This is also e very expensive bottle and I'd say the price can be argued, but you can't argue the quality of the rum. The nose just hits you right in the face. Fruit and smoky oak hits you first and then comes the molasses and caramel with a whif of leather. The palate is complex yet wonderfully balanced. Roasted wood and oak hit the palate right away closely followed molasses, vanilla and light chocolate. There is an ever so light bitterness to the palate. The finish is long and surprisingly smooth with oak, vanilla and dried fruit."

"#4197 It's very rare that blends like this, in my mind, very bold choice of rums. This one however Hits the nail on the head. The two mice very well and you get the cross cross of flavours from the two destilleres. Bold blend that pulls all the right strings."

"This is a piece of history and of course I had to try it once possible and straight out of the belly of the beast. Lightly fruity wit roasted wood and some licorice. Complex and very well balanced rum. Great ABV integration."

Top review from Vincent D:

Top review from Mirco:
"Sehr schöne Butter und Kirschennote sowie dezentem Holz und Gewürz, wirkt sehr rund und ausgewogen. Gefällt mir gut! Etwas mehr Umdrehungen hätten diesem Rum jedoch bestimmt gut getan. Release Preis schreckt etwas ab."

Top review from Jakob:
"Extremely oily texture, heavy and opulent sweetness that makes me think of maple syrup in addition to molasses. This is gradually joined by fruity aromas, the wood also announces itself with smoky-bitter notes reminiscent of coffee. A sip of history in two senses - not only the age of the rum speaks for itself, also the profile is no longer found in this form today. Makes fun!"

Top review from RumTaTa:
"Nose: the DOK dominates but the character of the rum from Panama is also noticeable. Overall, however, quite restrained. Palate: Panama is clearly more present here and not much of the DOK is noticeable. The alcohol is not optimally integrated. In the finish, the fruitiness of the Hampden comes through again very nicely. Nice interplay between the two rums! A very successful blend. Unfortunately, the alcohol is quite present, otherwise more than 9 points would be possible."

"Worthy Park trifft auf vanillige Eichenholzsüsse des spanischen Stils. Dazu kommt am Gaumen eine sehr ausgeprägte Rauchigkeit. Nicht gänzlich abgerundet, was aber vermutlich weniger an der Kompatibilität der beiden Grundprofile liegt sondern an der etwas ruppigen Natur der beiden Zutaten. Interessant, aber das andere OVNI-Release mit Worthy Park gefällt mir deutlich besser."

"I just love this rum so I have ordered yet another backup bottle. This is a pretty well blended and also well balanced rum from Black Tot. Spicy bit well balanced with the other elements and you barely get a burn from the proof once rested for 15 minutes. The dominant rum in this blend is clearly the one from Guyana. You only get hints of the ones from Jamaica and Barbados. For the price a pretty good rum."

"Ein wirklich sagenhafter Blend! Irgendwie fügen sich alle Rums, obwohl sie so verschieden sind, sehr gut zusammen und ergeben einen runden, aber wirklich komplexen Rum, bei dem nicht wirklich einer hervorsticht. Wenn man es weiß, welche Bestandteile er hat, kann man sich lange damit beschäftigen und versuchen die einzelnen Rums herauszuschmecken. Man richtig Spaß!"

Black Tot Rum Master Blender’s Reserve 2021
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"06.10.2023 retasting between 2021 - 2022 - 2023 and it lost a few points. ------ What a wonderful rum. The base should be the same as the 50th anniversary but this one is more fruity and there are more esters in comparison. A great rum and the quality to price is very good. I was so lucky that they allowed me to buy two bottles :-) Enjoying this nice rum again and I stand by my score. Very good rum especially thinking about the price tag. Retasting this one today and I really like it. Good that I have several backup bottles."

"Another step backwards compared to the 2021 bottling. A little better than the 2022, but unfortunately not outstanding either. Edit: Tasted again at leisure. Quite pleasant neat. Now also tried as a mixer in the CubaLibre, where I find it even better. Franconian Tasting Gang goes Tiki Better than the 2022"

"06.10.2023 retasting between 2021 - 2022 - 2023 and it lost a few points. ------ Now we have 3 great Black Tot releases. The 50th Anniversary, Master Blender 2021 and Master Blender 2022 and I like them all. They're also scored pretty closely to each other by me. The releases are really close to each other so the day decides which one wins. I like the darkness of it with smoky wood and warm palate as well as the long finish. I was very surprised at the final result when sipping this one at the German Rum Fest and I will have a few bottles when accessible."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one I admit that I would really have loved this rum to have a higher ABV because I think it would have greatly benefitted the rum. The nose is very fruity with burnt sugar and some grass to it (lile in a Jamaican rum). The palate is wonderful and has a bite on top of the fruity/spicy note. A lot of nice oak but not too much. The finish is long and slightly bitter with oak and ginger."

"Retasting and I stick to my older score. Very popular among the other tasters and the story of how it came to be was really cool. ----- Old tasting note below ----- I do like a navy rum and this is a nice blend actually. Stille doesn't beat my favourite Black Tot 50th and Master Blander edition. Medium heavy navy rum with oak and spices. Nice warm and spicy on the palate. There is a hint of smoke and solvents, but the overall balance is pretty good actually. Price to quality is very good."

Top review from Kieron Wood:
"I have never tasted a light rum this flavourful in my life and probably never will again. Tasting notes include nuts of plenty , cherry's and vanilla ... A rum that is designed to transform your cocktail but also sits perfectly well on its own with some ice ... The story behind the rum is great but the tasting is the best part and hats of to the producers of this devine product. The only reason it's not a 10 is the price point of it but it is there to compete with your mid range rums .."
