El Amparo Rum Carlos Baque Zorrilla
Top review from mto75:
"Sugar cane juice of the 'cubana negra', 5-7 days fermentation, then off to the pot still. Sounds quite promising. Fresh, herbal notes on the nose (green peppers), plus banana, fruit brandy and lemongrass. Ricola herbal sweets on the palate, slightly spicy finish."

"Brussels Rhum Festival 2024 Very fresh nose, then fruity and vanilla. Beautiful natural sweetness in the mouth, which is mild and then changes to spicy. Finish slightly alcoholic then long finish with herbal notes"
Ecuador No. 19
Top review from Lukas Jäger:
"A Spaniard with Wumms! Although he can not hide his Spanish roots, this rum fascinates me a bit. Although now no taste mega-highlight, he brings intense flavor. Surely its 69% contribute their part, but these are quite suitable and tameable after some time in the glass. Especially on the palate, dark flavors of nut and chocolate and, interestingly, a hint of lime show up. In conjunction with the Spanish basic character an exciting mixture. I would rather not buy a bottle, but once again something different in glass, I like!"
FRC Ecuador (Kirsch Whisky)
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Yes, this is the best of the four rums in the small series. It's probably due to the higher ABV. The rum is somewhat fuller-bodied and more aromatic than the other three. But it won't be my favorite either. Edit: I made a small blend from the leftover samples of the four Ecuadorians (i.e. tipped them together). Tastes better than any of the four individually! 😊 (but without rating)"

"#4596 02.02.2024 Relaxing at home while preparing for a triple tasting next week, phew that's going to be a tough one. Not too bad a rum but I think the ABV could have been better integrated. Nose Wood, light roasted, dried fruit, floral, light caramel, faint medicinal, light chocolate. Palate Wood, roasted, fruity, light nutts, chocolate, light caramel, light medicinal. Finish Medium long, wood, herbal, light nutts, light caramel. The empty glass has some tobacco and faint coffee."
Yaku Wari Untamed Rum from Ecuador
Top review from Thomas Renoud:
"Nose : very similar to Velier Long Pond 2019 STCE to me Taste : dried fruit and a bit of oak at the end but not too much for virgin cask. Conclusion: single cask, non chill filtered, natural colour, 7 yo tropical aging, 50 plus abv for 55€ that's one of the best value I've seen in a long time, please more of this !!!"
FRC Ecuador (Kirsch Whisky)
Top review from zabo:
"Franconian Tasting Gang If only with cola and ice. Edit: Unfortunately I have to retract this statement. I think it's pretty much the only rum and coke I've ever thrown away because I couldn't get it down."

"All right, I'll try the samples from zabo. Today No. 1: Uh, really not great. Tastes like neutral alcohol mixed with artificial peach flavoring. You can somehow (with some effort) recognize the Spanish style. But I don't find the alcohol well integrated and the rum somehow "thin" despite being over 50%. I don't even want to talk about the actual age of the rum. Perceived age 5 years at most. Too bad."
S.B.S Ecuador
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the GRF in 2024, S.B.S. Masterclass. Dry herbs on the nose, yellow fruit compote and a light pepperiness. On the palate, dry herbs, young wood and the usual caramel and vanilla. The finish is moderately long, though soon all that remains is the fresh wood. A rum marked by new wood (2 years after 6 years of ex-bourbon)."
Flensburg Rum Company Sea Shepherd (Beluga)
Top review from Frank:
"Won a sample set of the 4 new Sea Shepherd from Kirsch. THANK YOU 🙏. Here is the tropically matured sugar cane juice rum from Ecuador... Nose: despite only 47%, quite intense and even a little cutting at the beginning. Fruity, spicy and woody. Sweet, mealy banana with sour-sweet passion fruit and gooseberry with redcurrant. There is also sour cherry and green apple. Behind this, it is herbaceous and spicy with a little red pepper, vanilla and a hint of mint. Surprisingly beautiful and interesting nose. 8.0 Palate: dry, somewhat thin and quite spicy-woody-tart. Initially salty with lime zest and some caraway, slightly bitter. This is followed by subtle, slightly sweet fruit, perhaps green apple. Becomes grassy at the back with herbs and citrusy notes of kumquat. Weaker and more brittle than the nose, appears alcoholic at first despite the low %. 7,6 Quite unusual for Ecuador and therefore interesting."
Flensburg Rum Company Unaged Heavy Rum (Harboring Premium Rum)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4576 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit I would use this one for a mixer because it's just too edgy to be a good sipper in my mind. Nose Intense, fruity, glue, floral, light sugarcane. Palate Intense, alcoholic, citrus, light glue, sugarcane, faint floral notes. Finish Medium to long, floral, glue, light fruits, faint sugarcane."
Ron San Miguel Solera 1952 Añejo
Top review from Artur Schönhütte:
"Whatever is used to sweeten this, is way too much. There is a sugary burn in the aftertaste I really dislike. The coconut is so intense, that I have doubts of it origins. Nobody should want this. I fyou want coconut there are far better options"
Solera Especial
Top review from Rowald Sweet Empire:
"From the Days Of Rum box 2023. Somehow saved this for last. Not the best I guess. Nose: alcoholic. Tequila/mezcal. Weird. Unbalanced. Not very interesting. Taste: bitter. Burnt sugar. Vanilla. Better than the smell. Still no spark for greatness. Not the worst rum, far from the best. Very uninteresting and no deeper layers. Next!"
