"When it comes to REV this is one of the best ones I have tried. It gets to you as soon as you pop the bottle. I left it to rest for 15 minutes after which the flavours eminating from the glass were very intense. Very fruity with roasted wood and some leather and caramel. I also find a light earthy note in the back. The palate is complex and very fruity with roasted wood. Secondly I get vanilla, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. A full bodied rum, wow. The finish is long with roasted wood/smoky wood, chocolate and raisin. Great rum that deserves credit."

"Simply to kneel down! This malty smoothness. Almost perfect. I already know why REVs of the 1994 vintage are at the top of my list - and this is the best of them for me so far, the Primus.This rum is the second best I have ever tasted. It comes in right after Velier's Uitvlugt 1988 (RX3502). 😍😍P. S.: It tastes even better to me now than when I first tasted it five months ago. At that time I discovered another bottle of rum on the shelf of a store and could not believe my eyes, what a lucky find!"

"The nose is carried on earthy-herbaceous notes. And we find licorice and anise. But not only, we also find raisins, woody and leather. The nose is complex and interesting with the arrival of menthol-olive. It is fresh and rather promising. On the palate, it's complex and very intriguing. There are tropical fruits that soften this woody more present than in the nose. But that's not all, far from it, we have spices, vanilla and pollen as Al Mansoif would say! The finish is warm and rather dry on the aniseed woody."

"A nicely balanced TDL with nice spices, fruit and a nice caramel and chocolate topping. The empty glass delivers even better flavours once its been standing for a while. A bottle hard to get already and if you get a chance you should give it a go. Price to quality is pretty good."

"On the nose, in the first attack, we find plum, raisins, date ... It is not at all aggressive on the nose with its 53.6%, on the contrary it is very sweet. The nose is fruity and fresh but not only, because with aeration appears a heavier profile with notes of roasting, leather, wood ... The nose is undoubtedly attractive. In the mouth, it is creamy and less fruity than the nose, it is more woody and fat on the chocolate. We find some burned caramel. But a rather disturbing bitterness is present (bitter coffee, tannins ...). The finish is long."

"Une véritable frappe aromatique. Ce New Yarmouth est riche en esters et présente au nez de puissantes notes de vernis, de fruits tropicaux trop mûrs et de tapenade d’olives. Malgré les légères notes boisées et épicées et d’agrumes, les arômes fermentés et phénoliques typiques de la Jamaïque sont dominants. Le profil funky, lourd, puissant et aromatique décrit au nez revient en bouche avec des tannins et des notes rôties en supplément. Le rhum est huileux, épais et concentré en bouche, et surtout d’une puissance qui anesthésie littéralement le palais (peut-être même un peu trop). La finale est très longue, sans surprise aromatique sur le profil dégagé en bouche, même s’il a de quoi désinfecter le palais et la gorge. Un rhum extrême à ne pas mettre en toutes les mains."

"In direct comparison to the CDI NY 2009 clearly edgier and more alcoholic. Especially on the nose he makes me no fun...The cookie dough and fruit notes are not quite as dominant here, instead I find more burnt plastic, unripe pineapple, too hot and bitter brewed coffee, some cinnamon stars and especially a disturbing for me vinegar note.... Not bad but with an additional almost 100€ price difference in the RRP, the Wild parrot definitely draws the short straw here. But is still complaining at a high level. Tasty stuff! Am still glad that I bought for almost the same money 2 bottles of CDI 😜😜"

"Top Savanna! Just the right mix of wood and fruitiness. One does not meeti the typical "brachiality" of a Grand Aroma, but that's what makes it exciting! Beautiful cinnamon note."

"Le nez est, bien évidemment, sur les fruits tropicaux bien mûrs. On retrouve de la fraîcheur camphrée et des notes de boîte à cire. Et aussi du tabac et des épices. Le nez est très attrayant et tout en contrôle. En bouche, c’est vif et très marqué olive/saumure. Ensuite l’ananas se fait plus remarquer. Peu de boisé malgré 20 ans de vieillissement, si ce n’est pour structurer l’ensemble. Le nez pâtissier est moins présent, c’est vraiment ce mélange olive/ananas qui est dans la place. La finale est belle et plutôt longue sur un côté plus funky et des fruits sur mûris. J’adore ce Jamaïcain "
