"Excellent REV with a somewhat broader fruit spectrum - plum is joined by fresh notes of currant and other red fruits. In addition, with crisp spice, which comes along but rather tart than fresh-herbal. Pleasant sweetness. Overall, very balanced, without ever running the risk of becoming too predictable."

"Simply to kneel down! This malty smoothness. Almost perfect. I already know why REVs of the 1994 vintage are at the top of my list - and this is the best of them for me so far, the Primus.This rum is the second best I have ever tasted. It comes in right after Velier's Uitvlugt 1988 (RX3502). 😍😍P. S.: It tastes even better to me now than when I first tasted it five months ago. At that time I discovered another bottle of rum on the shelf of a store and could not believe my eyes, what a lucky find!"

"A bewitching nose of passion fruit, candied fruit and citrus, with a light varnish. The palate is full-bodied from the start, with maracuja (passion fruit), white chocolate and spices. The finish is long and finishes on fruit with a slight woody bitterness. An absolutely delicious rum, surprisingly marked by passion fruit, with this light acidity and deep fruit. You feel transported to a tropical orchard. The empty glass is marked by wood and a slight smokiness, but the whole is perfectly balanced. Delicious!"

"A lovely old rum from Guyana. The nose is amazing! Dark and heavy like all good Demeraras. Licorice, fruits, wood, dark chocolate, spicy, has a sweetness to it that I really like as well. I can detect a certain creaminess as well. A long finish with slight bitterness."

"A nose of overripe banana, pear, mirabelle plum and light wood. The palate has a soft attack, then is immediately full-bodied. The freshness is astonishing, with noble vanilla rounding out the picture. The finish is quite long, with acidic fruit and light oak. The empty glass is a fine summary of this interesting, well-balanced rum."

"Le nez est sacrément gourmand et pâtissier ! On a une belle tarte au sucre brûlé avec du fruité à gogo (de la noix de coco, de la banane, du raisin sec, des agrumes …). L’ensemble est parfaitement équilibré et harmonieux. En bouche, c’est tout aussi agréable et crémeux. On est moins sur les fruits (hormis les agrumes) mais plus sur le doux cacao et les épices. Et on retrouve ces notes de torréfaction ! La finale est longue et fine sur les épices et le boisé avec un zeste d’orange. Ma foi, il est bon ce Diamond 2001. Il me fait un peu penser au El Dorado Skeldon mais en Dark"

"Heute unter tropischen Bedingungen im Manati Haus Tiergarten Nürnberg verkostet. Keine Ahnung, aber fand diesen weder scharfkantig noch alkoholisch wie so oft beschrieben in den Bewertungen. Vermutlich liegt das an der Temperatur und an der Luftfeuchtigkeit. Für mich jedenfalls ein leckerer Tropfen als Fazit. Danke Leo für das Sample."

"Tasted this blind for 1st Advent, quite sharp at first, which lead to funky fruity mix indictating a Jamaican. Surprise, it was not! 😏 It is said to have some citrus, which I missed completely though. 2cl sometimes ain't enough... I also expected this to be onmly slightly aged, it was 10 years, however. "

"Spirituosenzirkus 24.05.2024 im Haus der Musik. Sample. Interessante Nase. Lösungsmittel, Nagellack, Plastik, tropische Früchte, Kräuter und Oliven in Lake. Kräftig, warm und ausgewogen. Im Mund extrem öliges Mundgefühl. Der Geschmack ist schwierig zu beschreiben, ich versuche zu assoziieren: Plastik. Karamell, tropische Früchte, nochmals Früchte, chemisch, künstlich… Sehr komplex. Der Abgang ist kurz und schwach. Ein interessanter Rum abseits ausgetretener Pfade, keine Ahnung, ob ich ihn mag, oder auch nicht.🤔🤔🤔"
