"Another great one and I wonder how they got the orange in the mix from nose to finish. A wonderful rum in my mind and very affordable. Lightly fruity with chocolate, vanilla and tobacco well balanced with the oak. Best after resting for 15-20 minutes after which it releases all its flavours."

"Got a box of The Nectar samples a few weeks back. Just didn't have the time to add then until today. Later today I will attend a Nobilis tasting downtown and I look forward to that. This is a pretty decent Caroni actually and the price to quality is also OK. Not a super dirty Caroni but nice."

"I’ve tasted and retasted this and keep returning to the conclusion that this is an absolute banger of a rum. The nose is full of sweet and sour fruits with an interesting touch of apple juice. As to be expected from the barrel choice: oak and spice. But leave it to open up and you’ll discover a surplus of flowers and fresh mint. The virgin oak really works its magic on the tastebuds. Vanilla and caramelised notes integrate the high ester fruitiness into a more balanced experience. The medicinal touch is still here, however supported by light agricole flavours on the finish. This rum perfectly showcases what virgin oak can do for a young spirit."

"Der Rum hatte bisher nur eine einzige Bewertung, schon vor längerer Zeit, 86 Punkte. Der Rum scheint nicht sehr bekannt zu sein. Für einen New Grove sind 86 Punkte vergleichsweise viel, das hat mich neugierig gemacht. Nach der Verkostung kann ich sagen: Ja, der Rum ist - nach längerem Atmen - wirklich als gelungen anzusehen, wenngleich er bei mir 86 Punkte nicht ganz erreicht. Der Alkohol ist relativ präsent, tritt aber mit zunehmender Verweildauer in den Hintergrund. Bei diesem Melasse-Rum dominiert - durchaus passend zur Farbe - ein Geschmack nach roten Früchten. Mich erinnert er ein bisschen an das Profil von Savanna, also Rum von der Nachbarinsel Réunion. Ungewöhnlich, aber anerkennenswert, finde ich, dass nicht nur die wie bei vielen Single Casks die Flaschennummer, sondern auch weitere Informationen (Limousin Oak!) handschriftlich auf dem Etikett vermerkt sind. Update 2023-05-23: Muss diesen Rum heute ganz klar aufwerten, denn heute schmeckt er unglaublich intensiv nach Minze und Menthol, fast wie ein guter TDL 2003. Superb! Update 2023-05-25: Musste mir den Rum wegen der sehr unterschiedlichen vorigen zwei Verkostungsresultate noch mal eingießen. Und bin jetzt überzeugt: Ein TDL aus Mauritius! 😳😋😋😋 Ich staune immer noch, dass ich die hohe Qualität des Rums nicht gleich erkannt habe. Und noch mehr, dass niemand anders ihn bisher auf dem Schirm zu haben scheint."

"With a medium to long finish this is a great interpretation of a Foursquare rum. Finished to near perfection and very well balanced. There is no doubt that this is a Foursquare rum with its fruity nose to finish. The balance between the wood, chocolate and spices is so harmonious that you almost feel like you're in heaven :-)"

"The special thing about this rum that I like is the long and very slow fading finish. It just sticks to your palate for a very long time. Only lightly frimuity but with smoke, tobacco and vanille in a nice well balanced mix for your senses."

"A bit disappointed with this one as it comes off too light compared to the normal Panama rums. Fruit and spices are there with the barrel i the background but would have loved a bit more bang for your buck."

"High Ester and PX finish always go well together. The rum seems very young and tastes very high ester. The sherry finish is rather subtly pronounced and could be more present for my taste."
