"Is often called the King of Hampden - and especially in direct comparison with other representatives of the already extremely exciting 1993 vintage, the outstanding quality becomes more than clear. The balance can only be described as famos - here nothing negative stands out: overripe fruits meet vanilla, caramel sweetness, dark spices and light roasted aromas. Superb!"

"Quite solid continental Caroni, fortunately bottled at high alcohol strength. Typical Caroni profile, compared to the tropical representatives, this bottling lacks a little balance, because the heavy wood sweetness is hardly found. Who likes Caroni, is well supplied here, but to the absolute top class is definitely missing some points."

"A New Yarmouth with a beautiful label. The nose is somewhere between Demerara, with salted butter caramel and spices, and Jamaican rum, with tropical fruit and a light varnish. The palate is surprisingly smooth, but immediately complex and full-bodied, with toasted almonds and very little ester. The finish is infinite and magnificent, with spices, varnished wood and tropical fruit. A great NY experience. The empty glass is very fruity, very Jamaican."

"Mon premier enmore 1988 et troisième seulement donc je manque sûrement de repères seulement je trouve ça très bon. Un nez puissant et doux à la fois tandis qu’en bouche on a de bon mélanges de fruits rouges et notes plus dark café caramel. En bouche on ressent tout de même une probable réduction je pense. Je baisse ma note en considérant le prix même si je sais que les demerara pas cher ne courent pas les rues."

"A TDL with a very caramelized nose. Then mentholated, woody. The nose is rather closed. On the palate, it's much more expressive: very present mint, fruit, tobacco. Dark and smoky. Reminds me very much of the TDL CDI selected by Caksus. Rather long finish. Very minty. A hint of dirtiness. It's a very particular profile that won't appeal to everyone. For me, it's a very good representative of this vintage's TDLs."

"12.01.2019 I received a huge lot of Samaroli samples from my friend in the UK, and this is the first batch I tried. Notes. Light in colour. Nose:wood, spice, lightly roasted, glue, citrus, light caramel. Palate: fresh, light, wood, roasted, citrus dried fruit, spicy, light caramel. Finish: medium long, wood, dried fruit, anise, caramel."

"Auch wenn ich kein Barbados-Fan bin und die wenigsten Mount Gays mir zusagen, so catcht mich dieser Rum irgendwie doch. Im Gegensatz zu seinem Bruder aus dem Rumclub deutlich ausgewogener und harmonischer. Sowohl die Rauchigkeit, als diese gewisse pflanzliche Note (die ich immer noch nicht identifizieren kann), sind deutlich dezenter vorhanden und ergeben somit ein runderes Gesamtbild. Die Verdünnung empfinde ich als unnötig, fällt jedoch erstaunlich wenig auf und trägt dazu bei, dass es fast schon ein Easy-Sipper sein könnte. Lecker, spannend und vor allen mal (zumindest für mich) mal etwas anderes. Man darf eben nie aufhören, auch vermeintlich bekanntes neu zu probieren!"

"Delightful nose. The rum leaves little to be missed. If I would not constantly drink so Hochprozentigs, this would be a heavenly rum😂 Beautiful density in the taste despite low ABV. In the mouth is already missing something. But has a long finish. Makes fun"

"A rather rough, disparate Hampden. Yet the nose is generous and savory, at once very fruity (banana, pineapple, lime), very phenolic (esters, varnish, solvents, glue) and also pastry-like (butter), with a hint of freshness. Spices, leather and the light influence of the barrel complete the profile. The palate is lively. The alcohol makes itself felt, accompanied by exotic fruits and citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit) which reinforce the feeling of power. Spices and wood tannins are not to be outdone, either, and follow on from the fruit, followed more distantly by pastry notes, leather and olive. A profile with strong sensations, perhaps a little too unbalanced compared to other extreme profiles, which are more controlled. The finish is long, sticking to the teeth with notes of tropical fruit, leather, spices, pastry, phenolic and medicinal notes. There's funk, heaviness and astringency at every turn. However, it's the absolutely unexpected touch of plum and fruit alcohol that stands out. A bestial Hampden profile that needs time to air out and express itself without risking alcoholic discharge."

"A very nice demerara from Samaroli. I would have loved a higher ABV though because I think it would have benefitted the release. The nose is lightly woody with vanilla, pineapple, caramel as well as a hint of mint and herbs. The palate is lightly dry and medicinal with dried fruit, spices, nuts, licorice as well as a hint of flowers and mint. The finish is medium to long and lightly dry with wood, spices and dried fruit. Price to quality is pretty good."

"With this bottle, the screw cap was a shock to me. I would not have expected that at this price point. But back to the rum. Vanilla and leather on the nose, and a nice young minty trinidad on the palate, a bit woody, with well-integrated alcohol and a medium-long finish that warms up nicely."

"Verkostet auf der Pueblo del Ron Nürnberg 2024 bei Weisshaus. Leider waren keine anderen Samaroli zu verkosten. Vermutlich war das Augenmerk eher auf Rumneulige statt Nerds gelegen. Zum Rum selber eher ein Anfängertropfen. Nicht überragendes"

"14.05.2022 Had a nice meet up with some nice rums, good friends and also new rum enthusiasts. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light, faint wood, cherry, floral, citrus, faint caramel. Palate Light, wood, light medicinal, light cherry, medium dry, lightly bitter, light floral, faint citrus, oily. Finish Medium long, light wood, oily, faint chocolate, citrus, light floral. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while to release all its flavours."
