"Wow, this is a great release. Despite the age the wood is extremely light giving the other flavours more space to bloom. I really like the marzipan on the back of your palate 😊 This is a very limited release for a Danish shop and they nailed it in my mind."

"This is a great Barbadian. Once poured you know you're in Barbados. I love the coconut that is there from nose to finish. Seems like they hit the right barrel for this release. Well balanced overall and natural sweetness on the palate. Price to quality is very good."

"Ich liebe das Appleton-Geschmacksprofil und hier komme ich voll auf meine Kosten. Wie ein Extra aus den 1980ern oder ein 21 Years auf Steroiden. Extrem schön, extrem gut, extreme tropische Reife ohne Verholzung. Ein bisserl Wasser fürs Trinken ist aber notwendig. Gewisse Gemeinsamkeiten auch mit dem Uitvlugt 1997 und ähnlich gut. Ein absoluter Lieblingsrum!! Danke nach Berlin! Die passende Musik: Ken Boothe „Speak Softly Love“."

"After pouring into the glass, the rum immediately takes possession of the surrounding air with thick, heavy swaths. Closer to the glass I find sour cherry, red berries and cassis. The fruit compote is accompanied by very pleasant and balanced roasted and barrel notes. Pleases me excellently. I have compared on the fly with some other St Lucia but this one is a blast on the nose! On the palate, the tannins clearly have the upper hand: lots of spice, oak, leather, salty licorice. The fruit is only subtly in the background and from the bitter category. The rum reminds me of old Armagnac on the palate. The ever-long aftertaste is clearly dominated by barrel and spice. I would have liked the fruits of the nose to reappear but so there is a certain break between nose and palate. The bitter notes, however, are not in the unpleasant range for my sensation. Regardless, an excellent, intense, powerful rum."

"A very good Caroni especially when looking at the price tag when it was released. The Caroni flavours are there without being too dominant and the overall balance is really good including the ABV integration."

"Considering the price tag this one fully live up to the hype. It is however still a pretty good Uitvlugt with its dark and woody profile with a bit of fruit and nice spices. You need to rest it for a while in order to get the full flavour profile and in the empty glass you get nice chocolate and licorice after a while."

"This is a good release and the price is pretty good compared to what you get. The Barbados flavours are there and I like the warm touch on the palate. The chocolate is far more obvious in the empty glass after a while. Nice and complex and I should have ordered a bottle but my budget ran out."

"Appealing melange of dried apricot, toffee, the slightly metallic minerality of the typical pencil shavings notes, as well as spice of licorice, pepper, anise, wood...aromatically complex, a good portion of smoke at the back. Not quite in front in the competitive field of 1990 Enmore VSGs, but still a very good rum."

"Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Well balanced with nice roasted wood. Dried fruit with spices and a light polish note and some licorice. There is a nice natural sweetness to it."

"Nice and intense bottling. Vast basket of tropical fruits and funky esters combined with marzipan and cookie notes. Compared to the RDL HGML, the latter had a more pronounced impact from the barrel putting it ahead of the NY we have here."
