Wild Series Rum No. 42 TML
Top review from DomM:
"Strong mint / menthol notes on the nose and the palate. Both alongside fruits and quite some dirt. This bottling is very nice and delivers a high intensity on the palate, being well balanced between fresh notes and dirty and woody notes."
Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 32 HGML
Top review from Leo Tomczak:
"Wow. Great strong HGML. You won't find anything like this anywhere else, so it's hard to rate. If you like Hampden, you're definitely getting something sensational here. In the nose directly a firework of HGML ester notes. In the mouth then surprisingly soft and round. You would hardly believe it, but the rum is well drinkable for its 86%. In the end, it lacks a bit of flavor to stand up to the alcoholic spiciness. Great thing, which of course has its price, but in my eyes is still ok, since the comparison possibilities are missing."
Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 18 JMC
Top review from Jakob:
"The smell is somewhat surprising with a rather unusual lactic acid note, although the aroma on the nose with the typical fruit esters, wood influences and subtle pastry notes and spices is still quite convincing. On the palate, however, a very dominant fruit acid stands out, which comes across too extreme for me and clearly overlays the rest of the profile. Even if the nose still provides a few plus points makes me taste no longer too great joy. For me, the first really disappointing Hampden bottling from 1993. //Update August 2023: Second attempt from a different sample. The lactic acid is gone. While the rum remains on the intense astringent side, even for the 1993 C<>H vintage, I no longer find the offending notes now. Therefore, clear upward correction. Not the best 93, but absolutely on par with the great releases of the vintage."
White Alligator
Top review from Serge:
"Tested as part of the RumX Advent calendar and almost certainly mistaken for a Savanna Grand Arôme ... and much older. The Alligator Char really does seem like a time machine. For me, it really is a sensational rum ... I will definitely keep my eyes open for an (affordable) bottle. Had it in the glass again yesterday ... still wow. Thanks to Jarek for the sample."
Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 26 VRW
Top review from Galli33:
"First impression trough the nose: light ester, fruity, glue; just like a good old LP. But once you take of the cap of the glass this smells disappear quickly, only the smells of the barrel remain. Same thing on the palate… It’s a bit fruity (coconut) similar to a foursquare. After the fruity notes the barrel/roasted notes take the overhand. The finish is woody with a hint of fresg coconut graters. Second impression: Much Much better, found some licorice, minty and coconut notes. Very lovely. The finish remains woody. +2 in rating Although it’s not bad, it’s still a good balanced, complex rum. The alcohol is integrated well too."
Guadeloupe Single Cask 2018
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"02.03.2024 Retasting at the whiskymessen and I stick to my score. ------------------ #4597 26-27.01.2024 Tried this rum several times at the event because it's so nice and mellow and an atypical Agricole and especially from Pere Labat. A lovely and mellow rum and I ordered two bottles ☺️ Nose Elegant and fine, light wood and roasted notes, light, fruits, light caramel. Palate Oily, elegant, wood, light roasted, fruity, natural sweetness, faint Agricole notes. Finish Medium to long, wood, elegant, cherry, light herbs."
Collectors Series No. 3 GMBV
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"We had a wonderful tasting at my birthday party on Friday. Very relaxed and cosy. Very complex and kind of heavy rum, what's not to like :-) Not as fruity as I'd expected but nice and woody with smoke and chocolate. After a few hours the nose is wonderful in the glass. Dry with a long finish."
Wild Series Rum Trinidad No. 14
Top review from DomM:
"Nose: intense with herbs and smokey notes. Rather closed-up on the first go. Palate: Very intense with herbs, wood and some dirty notes. Not quite on par with the early 2000s, but very nice profile nonetheless."
Limited Batch Series
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Incredibly good ten cane. Very elegant and drinkable, in contrast to my previous benchmark ten canes of duchess less complex and almost unusually sweet for this style but also extremely round and mild."
Collectors Series No.12 Guyana 16 REV
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Tasted against the RC REV 2006 (RX16863). And hard to detect any difference at all. Perhaps the RdL is a bit smoother and a bit shorter and somehow slightly musty in the finish, where the RC struts away there full of power broad-legged. But this is only a nuance and possibly due to the form of the day. Both rums are extraordinarily successful representatives of their kind. 😍 😍"
Wild Series Rum No. 50 Anniversary Edition MDK
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"14.12.2023 Retasting this one and I still really like the balance and elegance it has. ---------------------- #4411 Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Well balanced with nice roasted wood. Dried fruit with spices and a light polish note and some licorice. There is a nice natural sweetness to it."
Trelawny White DOK
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Extrem guter DOK! Würde ich gerne Mal im daiquiri ausprobieren aber dafür ist er mir zu teuer...😅 In Sachen Preis Leistung kommt da nix an den fine drams ran. Dennoch geiles Teil hier für high Ester power drinks!"
Bottled for German Rumfest 2023 TECC
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4179 This is the latest release from Romdeluxe and I like this kind of profile. Fresh and medium fruity with some esters and light wood. ABV is very well integrated and the profile well balanced. The price can be argued though for such a young rum."
Wild Series Rum No. 49
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4250 16.09.2023 Whisky N Rum Show 2023 Finally back after a day in Copenhagen. I really hate sitting in a train 2.5 hours each way 😁 Just needed a cool down rum and the new Romdeluxe was the pick. The nose is kind of light and fruity with a bit of funk, ester and polish. The palate on the other hand pretty nice and intense. Light fruit with roasted wood notes and esters. The palate is oily and smooth with a long finish. Draws amazing curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some nutts and light anise. Price to quality is pretty good in my mind."
Wild Series Rum Diamond (Unicorn Tasting Kit Vol. 2) EU Version SVL
Top review from DomM:
"On the nose more towards the dark, burnt sugar and caramel notes. Some herbs and with some time also Druid fruits. Still dark chocolate and (burnt) espresso are dominating here. Very nice in the palate. Again leaning towards darker notes. Molasses, dark chocolate and caramel. Yet more fruits versus the nose and a nice sweetness rounding the profile out.."
Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 57 (13. Berlin Rumfest) HGML
Top review from Thunderbird:
"GRF13: The second high-proof short-stored HGML version of RdL for the GRF... and I'm thrilled again. It's not quite as strong as the first time, but it's certainly convincing. It's always amazing how you can make such high-proof alcohol so drinkable. I have to confess that I'm a confirmed HGML fan, so my euphoria may be taken into account here 😇"
Collectors Series No. 12 REV
Top review from Jakob:
"On the nose, the 2006s are overall - unsurprisingly - quite similar. Dried fruit, subtle spicy and woody notes - perhaps the most obvious caramel note in a direct comparison should be emphasized here. On the palate the obligatory prune, distinct smokiness, leather, licorice, wood, again caramel sweetness - compared to the other 2006s most smokiest. Aromatically quite with appealing complexity. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of overly roasted or smoky flavors, but if that appeals to you as much as the REV profile, you should get your money's worth here. For me, it's a bit too much roastiness as well as medicinal alcoholic spiciness on the palate. For the comparison to the 1994 representatives, I repeat my impressions of the other 2006s: much less heaviness, the plum notes appear here more in tandem with currant, the dark tones of wood, licorice, leather and caramel are much less pronounced. I am inclined - despite the aromatic complexity of this bottling - to speak of "REV Light." While the spectrum of 2006s also has its charm and the character is undeniably recognizable, in my eyes the REV profile benefits extremely from the long aging and resulting complexity. However, the reference points can also be described as almost unfair for the younger bottlings, especially for proven lovers of the 1994 REVs."
Collectors Series No. 6 BTXCA
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"Meanwhile, I am a real Ten Cane fan. The profile is relaxed and yet not too simple. It is dominated by berries (currants and blackberries and spices (cumin, coriander seeds), plus some citrus and a somewhat imposed vanilla note from the oak.In the mouth, this is unfortunately a bit too tame, rather sweet fruits, plus some spices from the nose. In the soft finish, a few tannins are added.Compared to the somewhat stronger sister bottling, it is a bit less complex and intense, but more relaxed to drink. Tie."
Wild Series Rum El Salvador No. 10
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"04.05.2024 Retasting during a nice exclusive tasting at Romdeluxe. I stick to my score and I still love it. -------------------------- This is a wonderful rum with a limited to 265 bottles. The destillery is listed as "secret" but the taste is definitely El Salvador. The proof has been so well integrated, that you don't really need to add water to this one. Fruity with spice and a nice hint of oak all the way from the nose to the finish. There is a hint of the bourbon cask as well. Price to quality is very good."
Wild Series Rum Panama No. 24 (Batch 2)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"First off. You get a pretty good rum for your money. Panamanian rums are usually kind of subtle or mellow with some marzipan in the profile. This one however has that extra boom that you often want. The rum is nice and warm on the palate with light fruit and nice wood. I like the light caramel and menthol on the palate. The finish is long and warm and sticks with you for a good while."
Collectors Series No. 1 Imperial Navy
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting and I stick to my older score. Very popular among the other tasters and the story of how it came to be was really cool. ----- Old tasting note below ----- I do like a navy rum and this is a nice blend actually. Stille doesn't beat my favourite Black Tot 50th and Master Blander edition. Medium heavy navy rum with oak and spices. Nice warm and spicy on the palate. There is a hint of smoke and solvents, but the overall balance is pretty good actually. Price to quality is very good."
Wild Series Rum No. 56 Fiji (13. German Rumfest)
Top review from zabo:
"I'm torn as to how good I really think it is. From memory of the previous Fiji from the vintage I had in my glass, this one from the Wild Series lives up to its name. It is wilder than the others. I'll probably compare it with others again when I get the chance."
Wild Series Rum Versaille still (Unicorn Kit Vol 2) EU Version MDXC
Top review from TheRhumhoe:
Wild Series Rum Long Pond No. 9
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I had to rest this one because there was a bite on the nose after pouring the glass. After 15-20 minutes it gets far more accessible and the fruit flavours are easier to get. A lovely Long Pond with chocolate and wood in the front and nuts, vanilla and fruit taking the sidecar. Great balance and intense at the same time."
Limited Batch Series GHANA ARC
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"28.05.2021 Relaxing at home with some nice samples. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, ester, light caramel, fruity, light nutts, light clove. Palate Warm, wood, light roasted, ester, clove, fruity, faint smoke, light salt, light licorice, berries. Finish Long and warm, bold, wood, roasted, ester, fruity, licorice, light salt, nutts."
Collectors Series No. 5 BMHC
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A nice rum with a long lightly dry finish. Lightly fruity with spices and lovely oak, caramel and chocolate. Very light vegetal and licorice notes in there as well. Price to quality is very good in my mind."
Collectors Series La Reunion No. 7 Grand Arôme
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4453 05.11.2023 just came back after visiting a former colleague and he offered a few rums to try. I only have notes because I came unprepared 😊 This one needed to rest for a while to take off the edges. Nose: fruity, roasted wood, cinnamon and a touch of coconut. Palate: roasted wood, fruity, raisin, caramel and light chocolate. Finish: medium to long with oily touch. Fruity with some chocolate and spices. The empty glass hasld some light vegetal and solvent notes."
Collectors Series Dominican Republic No. 8
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is also a nice release. Once rested it releases nice flavours and I like the warm oily palate with light fruit and caramel. The finish is very long and warm and it draws really nice curtains in the glass."
Collectors Series La Reunion No. 7 Grand Arôme
Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: I have corrected my rating by -5 points because this bottling is not representative of the style "Grande Arome". The rum is still good but does not offer the typical spectacle for Grande Arome.nose: very present alcohol, I feel already as "pungent", no typical Grand Arome notes! Instead, influence of the wine barrel (sweet wine?)Palate: again sweetness and strong alcoholic presence, spicy notes, cocoa and barrel are added. No typical Savanna flavors like strawberry, gummy bear or Hubbabubba bubble gum but the wine barrel can be guessed.Finish: Not typical of a Grande Arome, the wine barrel has made the rum very balanced. Very good rum but not to be compared with a classic Grande Arome."
Collectors Series No. 4 The Oddmar Edition
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The rum is bottled by the Danish independent bottler RomDeLuxe. The rum is 3yo and aged in american oak barrels, comes from the Richland Distillery Georgia, USA. It’s distilled in a Copper Pot Still from Cane Syrup. There are some similarities with Agricole, which I like. Overall a very good rum to be so young that tastes a little in between Agricole and more traditional rum."
Dominican Republic 474 Esters
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"474 g/HLAA is more than Wedderburn at 93% and that from the Dominican Republic. A rum like you could never try before. The nose reminds undiluted neither Jamaica nor Grande Arome, but 100% glue with solvents (the good stuff), ethanol behind. You can use it to stain wood in a pinch. Maybe a thin lemon can be guessed. Water changes almost nothing.Undiluted in the mouth the same game: adhesive, solvent, plastic. That the 93% in the mouth go at all borders on a miracle. With water, the profile remains similar, some artificial fruit comes to it (green apple) and indeterminate sweetness as of refined sugar. From the pure tasting you have nothing but a headache.Even in the mojito, the glue pushes the mint against the wall. Undrinkable 🤷♂️"
