"In der Nase ein sehr fruchtiger und runder PM, der neben Dörrpflaume auch jede Menge Himbeeren, Waldbeeren und getrocknete Aprikosen hat. Die Süß-würzige Komponente hat etwas von Melassesirup, das mit kandierten Früchten vermischt wurde, Karamell oder Toffee finde ich hier quasi garnicht. Er wirkt zudem auch sehr floral und blumig. Eine sehr runde und harmonische Nase, welche etwas mehr von den Trockenfrüchten weggeht, wie gewohnt Im Mund wirkt er selbst für knapp 56% etwas dünn und hat eine sehr seifige/ parfümige Note, welche ich nicht ganz so angenehm finde. Auch sind Röstaromen deutlich spürbar, welche etwas in Richtung verkohlt gehen. Insgesamt nicht der beste Geschmack und das beste Mundgefühl muss ich sagen. Verglichen mit dem Full Proof High Spirits von 1974, performt der hier im Mund wirklich garnicht! Es gibt für mich besseres! Die Verdünnte Version mit 52% finde ich zb deutlich besser"

"Great theater - old Demerara in grandiose opulence. On the nose and palate with an oily texture, heavy molasses sweetness, smokiness and dry fruits, which are more restrained in the other well-known vintages of the 70s Demeraras. Either way, it remains a great pleasure."

"Super nice bottling. Mega dark tones with extremely heavy sweetness and an almost endless bouquet! Lots of wood, spices, yet fruit and caramel... It was endless fun! Thanks to the noble donor!"

"In der Nase erst sehr Kräutrig mit einer leichten Süße und einem Einschlag von Marzipan. Am Gaumen eher holzig-röstig und ins medizinisch-gehende (Jod?). PM eben. Insgesamt sehr lecker und trinkbar, der Abgang bleibt lange und adstringent zurück. Mit etwas mehr Prozenten wäre vielleicht ein noch intensiveres Geschmackserlebnis vorhanden, wobei dann wohl der Alkohol zu prominent wäre. Insgesamt eine sehr gute Abfüllung."

"The rum is very pale in the glass despite its great age. In my opinion, the nose is more in the direction of young Clarendons. Glue and fruit brandy (apple, baked apple) are my first impressions. The palate is surprisingly intense despite the reduction. I mainly perceive spice and barrel notes. Unspectacular finish with spice and barrel, becoming drier. Good rum but in no way special for me. Not at all comparable to the Fine Spirits 1997 Clarendon."
