"Day 24 RumX calendar What an unusual rum! I couldn't place it in any corner! St. Lucia I would never have suspected! Black Adder was almost 100% certain for me due to the charcoal residue in the glass! The flavors are more on the herbal side, but harmonize neatly as the spices provide good contrast! I like the St. Lucia very much"

"This is a great release from Blackadder and I do regret I didn't buy a bottle. On the other hand I would need a bigger house of I had alle the bottles I like. The nose is intense and fruity with spice and oak. The palate is intense and complex yet very well balanced once rested. Spices and fruit mix very well with the oak and a hint of coffee. The finish is super long with oak, fruits and spices with a hint of coffee."

"8,8:On the nose, the first notes are dried fruits, then out of nowhere arise tropical fruits with passion fruit leading the gang. It is very round. Nuttiness is around later, when aired, with some medicinal notes, grapes/sweet wine, sherry notes, becomes spicy, roasted, dry. Agricole notes with some smokiness are here now, with leathery/tobacco after well rested. 8,6:On the palate, we cannot miss agricole, volcanique pedigree and spiciness that we are hold on, dried fruits come out of this first agricole/spicy cloudy skies, are juicy with nice grapes and red fruits. They are sweet like very fine sweet wine. Roastedness comes by to say hello with smokiness and some drieness, bitterness and orange peel and is still very round. Tropical fruits are here, but a bit hidden. Well confectionery has been waiting till the end to show up and nougat! 9:The finish is very long, a bit sweet, agricole notes stay. It becomes creamy, buttery and toasted with tropical/dried fruits, with minimal drieness."

"Wow, an explosion of aromas. Incredibly delicious. It's almost too much! A Bounty finish. And with time, the nose too is reminiscent of a Bounty... After a long oxidation, the woodiness has developed too much... A pity."

"I always find Blackadder interesting, especially because of the fine carbon sediments from the barrel. More purism is almost impossible. Nose: needs a little time in the glass for the initial alcoholic sharpness to dissipate. Then comes a beautiful, spicy fruitiness. Coconut milk with vanilla, orange and lemon. Retains a metallic note the whole time. In the middle it is almost a little floral with a clear syrupy sweetness. At the end it becomes a little more muted, caramelly, woody with a slight smoky note. However, the Spanish style is unmistakable. Palate: initially salty-bitter metallic-fruity. Lemon zest with coconut. Then some sour cherry before it quickly turns woody-spicy. Now also laughs roasted-nutty, pecan nut. Metallic again at the back with lemon zest. Good."

"#4289 07.10.2023 this was a 7 hour long event with 3 friends and it was a nice day. This one needs to rest for a good while and definitely a raw cast because I had to spit out a few tiny grains of wood. Intense profile with nice fruit and a floral touch. The palate is warm/spicy and fruity also with a floral touch. The finish is long and spicy with dried fruit and the flavours stick pretty long on the palate. The empty glass had a bit of chocolate."
