Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A great Caroni though very expensive. The tar and rubber are there from opening the bottle and just creeps across the table taking you into Caroni heaven. Lightly fruity with a touch of chocolate and caramel. I love the super long finish."

"This bottle is pretty expensive now, but being able to sample it while on a relaxing trip to The Netherlands won't blast too big a hole in my wallet. This one has to rest for a good while or it will bite you and burn your eyes. Also try with water to release even more flavours. The nose is alcoholic before resting but the the Caroni comes to life with rubber, tar and petrol trailed by fruit, chocolate and a hint of wood and molasses. The palate is intense, complex and well balanced, warm and lightly woody with molasses, fruit, chocolate and tobacco as well as a hint of spices. The finish is forever with wood, rubber and tar as well as a jmhint of caramel."

"This rum is so complex and well balanced that you barely recognise the high proof. Just wow is the best way to describe this almost perfect bottle. The price tag definitely matches the quality and if you get the chance, make sure to get a sip. "

"die lange Reifung bringt hier die Fassnoten auf sehr harmonische Weise rüber: an der Nase Gewürznelke, Vanille, Kokosnuss. Am Gaumen: Lakritze, röstige Noten, dunkle Schokolade und Trockenfrüchte. Gefällt mir gut!"

Top review from Piotr Ignasiak:
"It's got a lot of the Hampden notes there, but the nose is quite light, the palate comes with more pineapple and topical fruit but quite quickly green tea bitterness and spiciness of the oak comes in takes over the spot, some sweetness detectable, but overall a bit sharp on bitterness."

"Herausragender Versailles-Vertreter, zählt zurecht zu den Benchmark-Rums dieser Still. Nur die Verdünnung und das damit möglicherweise verschenkte Potenzial für noch mehr Komplexität lässt sich als Kritikpunkt ausmachen - aber hier darf man auch einfach so Freude an einem Destillat haben, das zu keinem Punkt dünn oder wässrig daherkommt. Exzellent!"

"Whisky Fair 2023 tasting. Typical Versailles profile with herbal/farmy/woody notes. Still powerful for the old age with a medium long finish. Oily mouthfeel with strong notes. Really enjoyable and distillate driven without any cask influence to distract."

"J’avoue que c’est mon moins bon St Lucie, et je suis un peu decu. On a de beaux fruits bien mûrs, un peu d’ananas et de pomme assez faciles à déceler mais à côté une cire trop présente et des épices timides. Le tout finit un peu tôt.. ça manque de longueur, ça manque de quelques chose cette affaire."

"01.11.2019 Den Dansk Rom & Whiskyfestival This was my first visit to this two day event, where everything is included in the ticket. Also the first event where I have seen so many extremely drunk people. This event usually just has what's considered mainstream products, but luckily my friend had the right contacts so for a premium we had our own little collection to go through. Today I get free a free ticket if I want to attend 😊 Very nice and fruity rum with good balance and a spicy/warm palate. The finish is very long and medium dry with nice fruits. Price to quality is very good."

"Recht zurückhaltende Nase. Am Gaumen hingegen eine schöne Cremigkeit und Intensität. Gewürze, ein paar maritime Salznoten und Zitrusfrüchte. Etwas Rauch. Toller Port Mourant mit relativ dezentem Fasseinfluss."

Palate Light wood, faint roasted, fruity, light leather, light orange, light licorice, vegetal. Finish Very long and warm, fruits, light licorice, faint nutts, light wood. The empty glass has light chocolate notes."

Top review from Joachim Guger:
"Nice 97 profile. A bit more solvent , also fine notes of tropical fruit at the end. However, it lacks a bit of power to come out of the glass. Great mouthfeel and then a long, fresh, very fresh finish. Funky! Good drinkable Caroni, I like it very much. However, it lacks a bit of the power. Let's see in a few days how the rest of the sample likes."

"A very original profile for a panama. We're on a medicinal herbal register with a burnt side, certainly due to the alcohol, which is not very well integrated. Very reminiscent of genepi liqueur, for those who know. Astringent finish. Original profile, but not my preference..."

Top review from Decky Hicks Doughty:
"The nose is very soft. There's a little wood with subtle black pepper amd brown sugar notes. Something similar to almond lingers in the background. The palate is more vibrant than I expected. No real wood notes and it's on the sweeter side but not artificial. There's lots of honey and ginger. There's something of a fruity breakfast pastry about it. The finish is very short. And not much to comment on. A bit of a let down, some pepper and caramel stays for a time. Overall this is a nice rum. A typical, good, Barbados rum. I'd be happy to have it again."
